Getting to play with my kid

First, this isn't World of Warcraft which was (mostly) safe for teens. Final Fantasy XIV is a much more adult-oriented game where you will find tons of profanity, cybersex and women selling dirty pics. Your son will no doubt see a lot of things, mainly from older women, that he should not see until he is older. There are also men who may prey upon your son. Square Enix is very lax towards this sort of thing. If he plays on PC, there is a 90% chance that he will run into this material on the Crystal datacenter. Make sure he plays a MALE character (this is very important). Otherwise, God help you and your household.

No its not, just because some ppl turn it into that. You still dont just walk into that unless you go into one of those "clubs" or mod the game to hell... we play 10ish years and barely scrapped that part of the game. And if hes on the internet, theres worse stuff easier to find.

And im playing a girl and a female Lala and i never got molested or anything, so dont scare them away from playing as they like lol


The only reason our girl doesnt play yet is that we dont have a 3rd device and she needs to improve her attention span/skill first.

You appear to be on Shiva/Light. The problem is much worse on Crystal, and he said he wanted his son to play on that DC. There is open advertising of adult venues in public chat as well as public discussion of sex acts and drug use in certain areas like Balmung’s Ul’dah. The issue is when he could get into a “relationship” or other exploitative situation. Doing so could pose a significant legal liability for other players.

He's trying to make a character on Coeurl, not Balmung. And if it's bad enough to be reported on Balmung, report it. All of it. Especially if it is so extreme as to potentially pose legal liability for the players engaging in it. I guarantee this guy's kid is not the sole and only young person playing.
