"ok we will do instanced housing"

A new structure -> The Great Company.
2 variations, FC and Personal.
a fc or person creates it. and other FC or persons join.
Once enough join then the leader is able to create a neighbourhood. everyone who's FC or peronsonal char is in it can either move their house permanently into the neighborhood system, or buy a house in that neighbourhood instantly.

if someone (or a FC) is kicked out of a neighbourhood they retain their house in some limbo state and then can join or make a new one

I stop paying attention to WoW after I quit at Shadowland expansion (different than those professional haters in general forum who crapping on game but still here after 1 year; i just packed and leave)
Isn't Blizzard also good and bring out concept that raise hype, gives half-baked stuff when introduced (garrison, farm), then abandon it after one expansion?

Yes

Yes and no.

They're paying more attention to player feedback on what should be kept and what isn't working. They brought back the old talent trees in a more modern versions - definite improvement over you get 6 rows of talents and get to only have one of the three in each row. The delves added in the current expansion are pretty fun, at least to me. I'd describe them as M+ lite dungeons with one boss, no time pressure and 11 difficulty levels that can be played solo or with friends.

But content is still a buggy mess at release and as usual most is intended to only be relevant this expansion.

They are promising the housing will be evergreen with ongoing updates to add new decorations (likely since they can reuse assets already made for other content) and housing locations (I'll believe that only once it happens).

Same as the promises of any game company - they only matter as far as attracting new players and getting existing/old players to come back. Once they have players hooked, the promises get demoted into ideas that turned out not to be feasible once development started.

For some it may be nice to think that this is going to put pressure on SE to improve FFXIV housing but it doesn't. Players would genuinely have to quit FFXIV and move to WoW for it to create pressure and very few are willing to do that.

Oh I agree that instanced apartments can be greatly improved. I'd shell out a million gil right now for a larger multi-tiered apartment! As it stands, my apartment has 2 floors with the help of lofts. It'd be great if it had no item limit and was as large as a Mansion.

I imagine item limit will never be removed because it's there for performance issues. They don't want you accidently building up your house to the point that every time try to go inside of it your computer/console crashes because there's too many polygons to render. Or rather, the don't want to deal with support tickets from people who over decorated their house and can no longer use it.

Pretty sure interior-expansion (Small>Medium>Large) will cost similarly to the plot of that appropriate size, so 3, 20, 50m gil.
