This hasn’t been true since Stormblood. Maybe in-role, sure, but compared to melee, casters, and Phys range, the difference has always been big, sometimes even in-role, such as Picto vs All other casters. Hell, I remember when they said they’d buff BLM last year to be more “in-role” with other casters, despite already being above them all while RDM was left crippled.

Utility in this game used to be what SE used as a justification for these gaps (among other trivial reasons), but this expansion made me especially wonder if they even care to uphold their own standards when Picto was allowed to tax evade and be the strongest DPS in the game for a tier while MCH remains at the bottom for another expansion.

Exclusions exist and have always been an issue because SE created these gaps on top of when they introduced a forced party structure that supported these gaps. Although it’s only notable when savage begins, it doesn’t really seem acceptable for there to be “First 4-weeks ban” jobs, or “prog casters.” People should be able to play whatever they want and not be forced to conform to a meta just because SE’s 3-man balance team hasn’t been able to figure it for the last few years.
