Guys the game has to have grindy content for grind enjoyers. Not EVERYTHING in the game has to be spoon fed to you immediately. Get over yourselves.

Below we have a transcription of what Naoki Yoshi-P Yoshida said at PAX:
- "For some players, like me, I kind of get sleepy because it's so repetitive."
I mean, when it comes to opinions everyone likes and hates different things so essentially its like:
The [insert anything] content is TRASH though.
Good news is you don't have to do it. And theres probably hundreds of non-grind mounts you can get in game. But nah, those were too easy to get and now you're bored right? So you want the one you have to work for. But instead of grinding it out you complain about it so they make it easy.
This way you can move on to complaining and destroying other content in the game until its all just handed freely to you and you quit because they gave you everything and now nothing is worth anything.
If you don't see how destructive that cycle is and what it's done for this game you are kind of blind.
The only thing I agree with is the mount should be purchasable with 99 totems from the start, but I'm okay if that doesn't happen. Also 1 totem should be the norm. 2 Totems makes no sense. At that point why not give 100 totems and make the mount cost 9,900. It's just an arbitrary number.

Lmao do you think people actually mount farm? Nobody is sitting through that trash content when there are like a hundred superior games to play out there. Who's even playing FF14 in 2025? It's just an ERP hub.Good news is you don't have to do it. And theres probably hundreds of non-grind mounts you can get in game. But nah, those were too easy to get and now you're bored right? -Yes
-A few clearly
-Probably the people posting on its forums
-I can't argue with it becoming an ERP hub

I don't know why you think this sort of grind is OK when your literal signature is:
With how stale, homogenized, and gutted job design is; with how repetitive and uninspiring encounter design is; and with how pointless rewards from the stale encounters are, why would anyone be fine with the slop of a grind that you get xpac after xpac, patch after patch?Below we have a transcription of what Naoki Yoshi-P Yoshida said at PAX:

I seriously have to question the sanity of people who enjoy grinding for extreme trial mounts every single patch. Are you playing a video game or are you just coming here for your second job? The fights are lame, the jobs are lame, and the rewards are also lame. Maybe some of you are grinding for mounts not because it's actually any fun but because you are desperate to find something to do in this dying MMO. Break free, go play other games.
I've complained about all of that. I also stated why I enjoy having a grind. It's literally something I can log in to and mindlessly farm if I don't want to start another game. Without any grinds in the game there is so little to do around here it would just make sense to unsub.I don't know why you think this sort of grind is OK when your literal signature is:

To me, logging in to do an EX or two and see if I get the wings is the equivalent of someone casually booting up overwatch and playing a match or two to kill time. It's not peak gameplay, but at least it's something I can do in a game I'm already familiar with. It's casual content for me.
I hope you can make sense of that.
