That's kind of the thing, though. When you have unique classes with interesting and deep interactions, not everyone is going to like it. People that play a burst DPS class may not enjoy a DoT heavy class, and neither might like a pet class, but the people PLAYING those classes will love and cherish them. By bringing everything so samey and monotonous so "more people play it", so more people like it, you're sacrificing everyone that loves it.
And as a result, you have a lot of classes everyone likes. You have a game with a lot of "meh" jobs, whereas before, while people may not have agreed on what job was great, most everyone could agree their main job was great.
