    Not all jobs have personal defensive skills

    DRG, RDM, BRD, MCH and DNC also don’t with all but DRG amongst them having AOE defensives instead

    VPR is just in a similar boat to DRG

    Your point about the job being underbaked is totally valid though

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.

    Life surge is vestigial at this point and the difference between scouting and maiming is tiny compared to say scouting and casting

    Life Surge is not used as a healing tool and even in that role it's lacking. It is extremely rare that LS happens to make a difference.

    My only issue would be that the jobs without defensives should have something else as compensation but at the same time, not everything has to be the exact same with semi copy pasted abilities.
