deep dungeons are the most casual content ever... next to treasure maps. DCs arent even an issue, if you enter with a groupNo. The problem is that then casuals might start to think this game was for them. Heck they might even have something worth doing.
They fixed it in HoH. You can't even get past 30 without a static.
Which they used to keep the casuals out of the moogle event by making that the ultimog challenge.

I've made mention about this in dungeon subforum, but I'll just drop my suggestion again here:
"A Pomander of Raising is consumed in the event of disconnection."Just had this running in my mind after getting disconnected in solo runs thanks to somewhat unstable connection. Happened years ago at F84 > Left DD in the mud since then > Ultimog asks for F50 HoH > Regains the motivation > Retry for solo run + mogtome > Disconnected at F40'ish. Great, not even F50.
I know why they force to end runs when it happens. But I wish they don't treat like everybody's playing their game as close as to the server's back closet or something.

The problem if they do this is that people could just alt F4 if a run turns bad, and restart the floor series, which is similar to save scumming.
A better way would be to implement a timer to reconnect, and have pomanders of raising being consumed especially if the player character stays inside during the disconnect and gets killed by mobs. Alternatively they can remove the character (like in pvp), keep the instance open, and consume that pomander of raising?
Those story floor safeties weren't originally part of PotD at release, and failing any run meant starting back from scratch (or from the general second checkpoint at floor 51, or 21 in HoH/EO). This doesn't work for optional/non story floors, you fail, you start over.

Then you simply get another one to replenish the one that was consumed as you keep on trucking, I think that may work since it's already an existing mechanic, it would just have to be applied for disconnects. They could also have it where if you do get disconnected, you have to restart that same floor too.The problem if they do this is that people could just alt F4 if a run turns bad, and restart the floor series, which is similar to save scumming.

While there would be ways to force yourself to DC, the server having issues shouldn't punish people trying to do Deep Dungeons... So a getting DC resetting the current set of floors would be fine.
Because of this issue, I will not try to achieve the Necromancer title. The achievement in itself is already time consuming enough. Having your progress purged for a reason that is entirely out of your control is unacceptable.
Like sure i suck and might need several tries but always thinking about how an dc or lag might end it, makes me not even try...
I had that during stormblood when EU got ddos'd a lot, we could not even manage party runs of HoH anymore.. that was when i gave up back then.

This post is about solo clearing for the title, though. In this case a DC counts as an auto fail and you lose all progress.
Personally I have only encountered a DC a couple of times in all of my solo Deep Dungeon runs over the years, so I don't know how much of an actual widespread, consistent issue it really is. From my own experience it's not that bad, but I rarely experience DCs in general. However, I can see why it's still incredibly frustrating to lose 180 floors worth of time even once if the cause is out of your control.
