I keep getting DC’d in PotD and can't do anything about it, especially recently with the DDoS. Can we PLEASE at least have 2-3 minutes to reconnect before calling it a game over?

It's probably one of the most fun solo achievements you can go for, but that alone is making me less and less enthusiastic about starting another run...

Genuinely this just makes me sad. Because it won't get fixed. Frankly as a solo experience it might make me angry if they did with their backlog. But they are not dealing with the backlog either, and that's not the reason they won't.

I have been slowly doing HoH on 2 saves since the last spike where I was nearly at the top and it ruined it.

It's on hold because of the ongoing DDoS attacks. I get spikes every single day. They've ruined some savage pulls too. Any time I try to trace the packet loss it's at the server itself.

I've accepted I might just have to put it off for a few years until something changes, whether on SE's side or mine (transferring).

With as long as it takes to climb 1 to 200, it is beyond ridiculous to have a DC cancel 8+ hours of work. Even with a 2GB fiber connection, the DDoS attacks are something the end user can do nothing about.

Yeah I mean frankly FF14 is probably not just being DDOS'd. DDOS happens every day to every major company. They're either underinvesting in DDOS protections, don't care about talking to their provider, or worse, their servers are just so bad a fart of a DDOS can cause it to explode

you have a checkpoint every 10 levels up to 100. They removed it by purpose

No. The problem is that then casuals might start to think this game was for them. Heck they might even have something worth doing.
They fixed it in HoH. You can't even get past 30 without a static.
Which they used to keep the casuals out of the moogle event by making that the ultimog challenge.
