You're being intentionally obtuse. The game's culture has fundamentally hard-shifted to the current equilibrium. This is undeniable fact. In fact this game's culture was more like WoW during HW than what it is now.

There are still people doing the same things they've been doing since HW. There's just more people doing more things since the population has risen. I'm simply pointing out a lot of the things you seem to think have disappeared have shifted where they occur. A lot of stuff happens in discord now. That changed a lot for the community.

That is not the point. The point is that the proportion of these populations have changed and that the most prominent, front-facing parts of the community have changed. You are not seriously going to suggest that the % of the game's population that never raids and just ERPs the whole day has stayed the same?

No one is saying that raiding and opti are gone. Not that that matters because modern FF14 raid culture is raiding drama and talking about lolcows.

Like I seriously don't understand why people like you keep trying to insist that HW culture was not MASSIVELY different. Even SB changed a lot from HW, which was when useless fanart started suffocating and destroying the main sub.

The front facing part of the community is not ERP. You might be noticing it cause you're annoyed by it but I'd hardly say that's the MOST prominent part of the community. The playerbase total has increased so more people are doing MORE of everything.

There is no optimization discussion outside of very small corners for certain fights because 2 minute meta killed pretty much all optimization discussions. Once the initial rotation numbers are crunched, that's it.

The culture is different because there are more people affecting it. I'm not claiming it's exactly the same, I never claimed that. I SAID that the parts of the game you seem to be bemoaning STILL exists. The ERP/RP/Nightclub stuff STILL exists too. It all has been existent in this game for a long long long ass time. Just cause you see more nightclub ads cause there's more people so more nightclubs doesn't mean the ENTIRE GAME CULTURE has shifted into only ERP.
