I do have to wonder why they think the player suffers from short-term memory loss and we need flashbacks to things that legit happened just the scene before. Like....gee thanks...I have completely forgotten!

"The worst foe lies within the self."
its a fact that it being not fine is great?
tbh for me it already happened on some level because Wuk tainted all female Hrothgar for me. I absolutely cannot stand to see them in game now and will disregard and have no interest in any NPC that is a femgar to the point I skip all their dialog during quests. Even when I see other players who have a female Hrothgar I will unconciously roll my eyes and even just completely disregard them. I have never had this sort of reaction to an in game race in my nearly 40 years of gaming, outside of Githyanki who are just horribly ugly with that "someone stole my nose" thing they have going on. They worked "so hard" on giving us a new race, only to instantly ruin it. At least when they gave us the males we got Runar and Magnus, who were instantly endearing.
seems a bit extreme, but i cant really disagree xDtbh for me it already happened on some level because Wuk tainted all female Hrothgar for me. I personally enjoyed Dawntrail’s story, mainly from being interested in learning about each area during the trails and then really into the second half of its story once it got going. But I feel like for those who weren’t into it Dawntrail really revealed how boring the format and gameplay of the MSQ can be. I felt this way in the early parts of Shadowbringers when we had to keep doing errands in each area to get people to trust the heroes, or were hanging out with the Loporrits in Bestways Burrow, and in Heritage Found when we’re given the introduction to electrope and farming. And we’ve all heard people complain about ARR being just fetch quests.A lot of the MSQ quests could do with trimming significantly in terms of go find 3 people, point at robot for the blindingly obvious, listen to how everyone is a sterile clone of each other and echoes each other's opinions.
…..
For the sake of helping the game in the long run, I am suggesting to the team to work on trying to cut as much as possible out of this expansion that simply isn't necessary, or repeated dialogue. There is a lot of fat to trim, I don't think anyone, including people who somehow enjoyed this expansion would miss it given how much of it repeats itself or doesn't contribute to the story.
So then what happens when you’re not especially excited about the current story? It feels like you’re spending hours bored out of your mind just riding your chocobo from one quest marker to the next with no interesting action. And then feel like it drags on because there really is a some filler that isn’t necessary (why did we even need the whole story arc in Shaaloani?). All of the MSQ could benefit from being made shorter and reducing the filler and fetch quests, as ARR already has to some degree, and a different format of MSQ needs to be considered. Dawntrail was just more of the usual.
So even though I overall enjoyed Dawntrail’s story I agree with OP, but not just for Dawntrail. The format of “100 quests of gradually moving across six zones” can make the MSQ really boring sometimes and make the other issues feel worse. I hate Loporrits because the Bestways Burrows section felt so long and boring to me.
That is a big one, yeah. 100 quests, comprised mostly of non-interactive cutscenes make for a poor video game experience. And this rings true for every expansion. Though my hopes for CS3 to revise the MSQ format are rather slim, considering that a lot of the current development cycle works because of their rigid, inflexible planning. So even though I overall enjoyed Dawntrail’s story I agree with OP, but not just for Dawntrail.
