I like it being split up into mini patches. I thought it was a really good and considerate idea by SE. It spreads it out so I'm not overwhelmed and pressured to do too much in one day, since you only experience the rush of doing content once, completely blind on day 1.

Yes, I know some people don't feel overwhelmed because they ignore most content, but it personally has overwhelmed me when they've put too much in since you can only do one thing at a time. Duty Support helped because it meant I could put MSQ off, due to it being done with NPCs.

From having anxiety to use X job/role/skill/mount/emote/log in etc to "don't release too much content because my anxiety issues won't let me do anything" And the sad part it seems SE only listen to them.

What content did they add since shadowbringers that you can be overwhelmed by? Bozja patches were the last thing they ever added that you could reasonably be "overwhelmed" by, there has been no content they have added since then that could take you more than a week to complete. The problem isn't staggering content or long patch cycles, it's the fact that the patches don't have content that'll last long enough to fill those gaps inbetween them. If every patch since endwalker dropped all it's content on patch day it'd take you 2 weeks or so to get through the entire patch's worth of content, maybe a month if your savage runs go badly. This game needs grindy or another form of long lasting content badly.

Maybe I am exaggerating but I'm kind of tired of savage being the only thing to do in this game. Also yes I did unsub I'm posting thanks to the free login campaign.

Respectfully, this type of FOMO is on you if you have the mindset that you "have" to play instead of playing content when you feel like it. However, you can only play content when you feel like it when there is any content to play at all. Are you also complaining that Netflix has too many shows to pick from? Amazon has too many items? Spotify too much music?

Being overwhelmed with too much choice is actually a real issue in game design. To give an example, many open world games suffer from this issue where they throw you into a huge world with so many things to do that you kind of lose direction. A large number of players can feel so overwhelmed that they just drop the game. In the case of ffxiv I would not say it has this issue cause the content is so short and insignificant, but in other games it can definitely happen.

As you said. We are very far away from that state. I usually don't say that, but this is the most non-issue in this game.

It's not, because if you actually play the game you quickly discover there is a rush on day 1 and that is a particularly fun experience. If you do it too late, people spoil it and explain mechanics as well.

Since that is effectively like Duty Support content because you can do it alone.
