sorry i made an error. It was 29 weeks in total from when DAWNTRAIL released that we had to wait for all of 7.1 to finish. instead of the standard 4 months were promised. It would not be an issue if they removed drip feeding
Respectfully, this type of FOMO is on you if you have the mindset that you "have" to play instead of playing content when you feel like it. However, you can only play content when you feel like it when there is any content to play at all. Are you also complaining that Netflix has too many shows to pick from? Amazon has too many items? Spotify too much music?
Being overwhelmed with too much choice is actually a real issue in game design. To give an example, many open world games suffer from this issue where they throw you into a huge world with so many things to do that you kind of lose direction. A large number of players can feel so overwhelmed that they just drop the game. In the case of ffxiv I would not say it has this issue cause the content is so short and insignificant, but in other games it can definitely happen.Respectfully, this type of FOMO is on you if you have the mindset that you "have" to play instead of playing content when you feel like it. As you said. We are very far away from that state. I usually don't say that, but this is the most non-issue in this game.Being overwhelmed with too much choice is actually a real issue in game design. It's not, because if you actually play the game you quickly discover there is a rush on day 1 and that is a particularly fun experience. If you do it too late, people spoil it and explain mechanics as well.
Since that is effectively like Duty Support content because you can do it alone. Are you also complaining that Netflix has too many shows to pick from? Amazon has too many items? Spotify too much music?
Then you might want to consider not engaging with people who ruin the experience for you. It's not, because if you actually play the game you quickly discover there is a rush on day 1 and that is a particularly fun experience. If you do it too late, people spoil it and explain mechanics as well.

You can't avoid it in new content, especially alliance raids, where everyone knows the mechanics once it's been out for more than an hour and especially after more than 1 day. As in you can see them going to the right places anyway, even if they don't try to spoil it.
So, you want everyone to get as little content as possible because your own fun and schedule is more important.
To be honest, this is just another symptom of the core issue if current content just not being enough. If they drop everything at once, we still have a bad situation where we are without good content for months. Not saying the current system is better, but dropping everything on 1 patch will not solve anything either.
