So, the way I'm reading this is they used chat to coordinate (like you said you were fine with), but that was distracting? I apologize, but these two statements seem in conflict with each other to me.

They were spamming their macros with sound effects. Literally 'Follow the waymark' x3, then ten seconds later 'fallback' x2, then ten seconds later 'Follow the waymark' x2, on repeat for the match. Often they would lead the whole team in one direction, then turn around and go back... then turn around and go a third direction meanwhile no enemy or node in sight. And when people started to break away from the aimless group, they spammed their macros with sound effects again.
