Anyone remember when the devs were like ‘we do not account for job lore in any way when developing gameplay now because [it’s too hard]’ lol?

Then the second anyone mentions glamour restrictions suddenly they’re all ‘ but we have to account for job lore in gameplay!!!!!1’

Is the development team like, refusing to communicate with each other or something? They can barely keep their excuses straight

Unrestricted glamour is in their "in case of emergency"-trump card to win huge amount of goodwill should they deem it necessary. I'll die on that hill.

I do agree I believe some of this to be true, the thing is, maybe the emergency is now, while the game is still healthy but is losing players. We know it's losing players. recovering players is harder than keeping them, and they won't come back just because they unlocked glamours, but it may keep a lot of them from leaving to begin with and keep them in the game.

The worse thing they can do is wait until its too late and noone wants to come back regardless of what changes they make.

While not under the "all glamours", iirc there are sets on either the Korean or Chinese servers that use the crafting and gathering sets for use on any fighting job. There's quite a few of those sets that would look good on others (pretty much all of ALC's outfits on Sage, for instance) and I'm still disappointed that we haven't gotten something similar.

Well, its literally because CS3 are stubborn and immune to feedback. Yoshida himself said that they won't do it because they want some resemblance of visual integrity (which, looking at screenshots in this thread, and considering the abomination that is the Fall Guys Event, is a joke and a half.). So I can't say the frustration with the devs is entirely unwarranted.

Every time I see the quote, I think he must immediately glam every piece of gear he equips, because we have had multiple plate armor sets for casters already! Not just the PvP stuff anyone can wear, but actual tome gear sets!

I would like these to be available as well. They used to be all classes, but for some reason they became even more restrictive about it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the excuse pertaining to job/class identity is just that - an excuse. Because when you queue a roulette and find yourself in a team that looks like this:

It really does make an absolutely mockery of said excuse.

At least a bikini doesn't resemble any role's armor.

More over, another observation I've seen is that almost no player doesn't want this to happen. So I think this restriction is a developer preference, rather than a player preference.

I'm actually legitimately curious about this stance, considering the almost role agnostic armor pieces the game already has (like the replica sky pirate/sky rat gear, the crafter gear replicas dropped for Malikah's Well, the full plate PVP Armors, etc). With all those in game already, which are breaking role armor conventions, why are you still against opening up glamour restrictions? Not trying to diss you, I'm genuinely interested at the why.

I just don't want to see roles wearing armor that resemble other roles. I want tanks to look like tanks or wearing tank armor respectivly. I find it a bit annoying to see healers in tank armor etc.
And yes, I'm a bit "sad" that they broke their convention with the sky pirate replicas.
