FFXIV population decline continues

No surprise. I am trying to speak about those problems for years now. I got attacked for it so often. I would just be burned out bla bla.
No I am not burned out. I am just bored. :/

Bored because there is nothing interesting to do and there is not much that brings fun to my gameplay.
I also spoke here about the devs being out of touch, after they showed us the content for 7.1. And I still got attacks. x3

People do what Yoshi wanted. They go play other games that give them a fun gaming experience. :x

What is cosmic exploration supposed to be? Ishgard Restoration/Island Sanctuary 2.0 ?

It's essentially replacing the slot that content had, but it's not the same as either of them.

It's going to be a social area Ishgard Restoration was, but with a solo progression like Island Sanctuary. That's my understanding. Whether it will actually have a mechanism to make you need other players remains to be seen, but for now I would not expect it.

And everyone just looks up a guide for that

There's nothing inherently wrong with iterating DD and field operations every expansion. The only problem is FO shouldn't wait until .25 or .3(5) to start.
And Deep Dungeon needs a better shakeup than what they tried to do with Orthos. Moreover I sincerely hope they don't repeat the mistake of not making the new DD a valid way to level up alt jobs from 90 to 100.

Because it was no exploration thing to find them. It was like..., interact with the right interaction points in the right order stuff.
I really tried to do the first Variant without guides. But the solutions are often too random.
It did not feel like an exploration. More like..., try to find the right combo to unlock the coffer, but with mobs in between. xD

Except Chaos Raids in DT. Except Criterion/Variant in EW. Except Ishgard Restoration/Ocean Fishing in ShB. Except Ultimates and Field Operations in Stormblood. Except deep dungeons/diadem/GC squads in Heavensward.

Barring Chaos raids, how is any of that currently classified as "new"? Case in point, did you leave out Island Sanctuary on purpose? Chaos raids? Very few people seem to be happy with it as it is right now. People still do Criterion/Savage? Could've sworn that was dead content.

It's not new NOW. It WAS new. Proving, conclusively, that SE does NEW things!

Yes. Because it took Ishgard Restoration's slot. But it was different enough to be considered new, sure.

The clear rates for it seem about as high as regular savage now, or close to it, so seems yes.

I believe he was pointing out that FFXIV has a long history of introducing new things with each expansion (as a response to people claiming FFXIV rarely does anything new). Also, if you listen to the forums, very few people will ever be happy about anything. Personally, I see a lot of excitement in game about the Chaos raids, which is where the huge majority of players will be (not here, or on Reddit, or...you get the idea). Don't confuse what you see in online forums as representative of anything.
