Why do casual players seem entitled to cosmetic items added in game?

It’s honestly weird to me how vehemently people insist that the ‘pretty princess flower girl’ hairstyle must - by necessity - be exclusively within the remit of hardcore players.

How dare those filthy casuals think they can *checks notes* serve cvnt like a raider?

Except that’s completely missing the point.

If the reward was something even vaguely Cloud of Darkness related, fine. Hair mount outfit bloody housing exterior m. I wouldn’t really care if it costs 99,999,999 million Gil and required completion of every ultimate ever made.


Instead, the reward is…a flowery hairstyle they clearly just had lying around in the dev room? We’re seriously good with them shoehorning random, unrelated rewards to artificially extend content longevity?

Except apparently it won’t extend content longevity in any way because, you know ‘if they can’t have bread they can eat cake’ …so somehow adding this unrelated hairstyle to chaotic raids is simultaneously making people farm it and can be bought from the market board quickly and effortlessly. So really there’s no ‘locking’ the hairstyle behind anything so why are people even trying to defend that line of reasoning?

Make up your mind. Is the hairstyle exclusively available to raiders or not? You can't argue both sides and act like they're both a problem.

Trying to follow this absolute roller coaster of an argument is mind-boggling.

The hairstyle is low effort and lazy but you want it and it's being gatekept by the hardcore elite but you can buy it on the marketboard. It's forcing people to farm the content but it isn't. Where are you going with this and what point are you even trying to make here?

It's a hairstyle. You can get it by playing the content or buying it on the marketboard. Either get it or don't. No one cares.
