Have you tried setting the clock speed to minimum in Afterburner?

I've read some people fixed it by reducing it to minimum, while others fixed it by setting it to its non-Overclocked setting.

the core clock (mhz)? yeah i tried -20 to the lowest for the core clock in afterburn, the game runs pretty poorly because of this and still crashes the same.
