    Life Surge to me has always felt like a holdover skill from OG Dragoon. It feels like Dragoon Kaiten. I don't really have an opinion on whether it should be removed/replaced or not, but considering changes SE has made historically I'm genuinely surprised it has lasted this long.

    Can anyone explain why it's not possible to have the old jump where we actually see our characters rolling back to the original position without actually updating our position for incoming damage?
    While I enjoy this QoL, the animation and feel of jumps feel extremely lacking of impact.

    To make matters worse, quality of sound effect is really poor.

    Starcross is a good example of it, it should feel like you're going down on enemies like a freaking lightning strike and yet it feels like a wet fart.

    I'd like for Jump/High Jump to move our camera too as it did before without actually moving our position.

    Welp, I guess next we're going to have people here arguing that Drakesbane has a good animation. It looks like you're waving a magic wand around.

    Interestingly enough Spiral Blow is also similar to Chaotic Spring however Chaotic Spring spins your spear slower which gives it more weight (even though you are also floating in the air).

    Don't make me go through the animations this Expansion. The devs have always exaggerated animations but I'm not sure what happened this expansion they're exaggerated "wrong". Squatting too low, too much extension of the character's body, not enough slowdown during certain spear movements. It's a mess.

    Anyway, I would like to have my Nastronds back. I can endure bad animations better than I can endure bad flow in the rotation.

    This is what SE has reduced the community to. Begging to have to deal with one bad thing in order to have another bad thing reversed/removed. I've seen people asking to have Life Surge taken as a compromise to get Nastrond charges back.

    This is like when SE was going to remove Viper positionals, and because of community backlash they ended up not doing. Instead they removed Noxious Gnash as a compromise out of literally nowhere. As a response the community was then like "Wow ok if we let you take positionals can you give Noxious Gnash back?"

    I don't understand why it has to be this way. Not everything needs to be sanded down for the absolute lowest common denominator. We can have both things, SE. It's fine.

    Not quite what happened I'm afraid. SE announced that they would "adjust some skills" and "remove positionals". Feedback from the Forum was rather unanimously a "please don't change Viper, Viper is good". When talking about the changed skills, people assumed buff timers would increase.
    SE then went ahead and only did one of the two things - namely, the "adjust some skills" part. Which gutted Viper gameplay more than removing positionals would have. So of course people went back to ask for the "better" deal.

    That being said, you are right, of course. Still, it is a fight against windmills. Despite Yoshi-P's words this summer, SE loves nothing more than to smooth out any personality out of jobs so every job appeals to every player. Its maddening and it should not be that way.

    In High-end Dragonfire dive gets used on cooldown because it has a hard 2min cooldown. You ideally don't want to drift but I have definitely drifted that back a GCD before for encounter specific gap closing situations if for some reason I don't want to delay my Stardriver or it's going to align with a lance charge better. In dungeons and stuff I have certainly used it to gap close on a pack because purely because it's fun and trash is trash, 2min will be back for the next boss.

    We have to agree to disagree here. Dashes don't count as every job has a dash of some kind now. Not talking about animation jumps or pseudo jump like old Highjump that don't damage or actually move you. I much preferred having more damaging jumps. For me the high weaving and movement is what the job is about. Even if at this iteration it still 'moves' more than most other jobs the fact is it moved And damage at the same time more before. It's ok for this to be something very different from other jobs. There are 20 other jobs that do other things.

    Or should I start campaigning against casting cause I think it feels awful and they all should play like phys jobs and be instant. Most people would say 'Maybe you should try summoner or maybe not play casters' which I think is reasonable, since summoner is the least casty caster. The point is we should want and get jobs that function differently from each other and DRG being mobile part of it's thing, or it was.

    Dragoon gained mobility with dawntrail, there was absolutely no loss of mobility. It used to be among the least mobile of jobs because its gap closers were all tied to your dps potency. I know you're not trolling, but you are trying to manipulate the devs.

    It lost 2 charges of spineshatter for a skill no dragoon would be caught dead using.
    It also lost elusive jump early in the fight because now spear toss is part of the opener.
