Overall really dissapointed with the writing on this patch's MSQ, it felt absolutely amateur.

First and foremost the funeral, which was a nice touch for Sphene, but you cannot convince me that not a single soul in the entirety of Solution 9 couldn't open their mouth to confront our group about the fact we meddled in their affairs and ultimately led to Sphene's demise. While the truth is different, it seems absolutely normal that at least some of them should lay the blame on us and ask us why did we ruin their paradise, yet none do, it's irritating.

The entirety of the dialogue in the lab felt extremely robotic and devoid of any emotions. In fact, nobody seems to even want to talk properly this patch for some reason. There are critical pieces of information being shared about Gulool Ja's mother yet nobody seems to want to discuss them openly with the group or Gulool Ja himself, which you think would be the point of this entire search.

Don't get me started on the awful filler that was Koana's segment...a man who grew up hating the Rroneek thinking his parents left him for them and in a hot minute he suddenly wants to throw his life away very stupidly for a single one of those prey animals all the while assuming a very important duty to protect a hundred thousand of people behind. And that's supposed to be the vow of "Reason"? No, that's a big dumbass is what it is. Once again nobody to tell him he was being irrational. And of course, what better to sprinkle all that very positive and naive filler with an astounding revelation about his parents from the PoV of a random NPC that might have seen a couple 20 years ago for a few seconds while fleeing for his life.

And finally, the Sphene plot twist, oh boy. You know i actually enjoyed the plot that the citizens are struggling with their newfound freedom and fear of death, but all of that is immensely meaningless now if they can't fight those trials on their own. Sphene is alive, there's two of them, which means Sphene is gonna end up babysitting them further, and finally release a heartfelt speech about how their lifestyle bad, so they must change, and they will obey their queen because that's all they can do.

Look i've been a FFXIV player since 1.0, having the mark on my back and being usually very open to whatever was thrown at us. But this, this was possibly the first time in my long 13 years that i actually wanted to skip the cutscenes, and i'm fairly certain i'm not the only one. I hope they get their thoughts together and figure a proper red thread they wanna follow for the long upcoming years as we avoid poor writing and overwhelming filler content.

It's kinda hard to piece together exactly what the Alexandrians know about us, both for mundane reasons and not, but I actually don't think they'd reach this conclusion.

We're actually a remarkable unknown to the Alexandrians compared to how much of a footprint we leave in every other city; most of the big stuff we do is behind closed doors. To an average Alexandrian they probably know the following:
    • Broke through Vanguard, whicht hey probably knew was full of sentries.
    • Were seen to be friendly with Sphene (but then, who wasn't),
    • Were visibly present fighting back Zoraal Ja's attack on Solution Nine; how many people were witness to what parts is unclear, so they may or may not know we defended Sphene directly,
    • Have also been seen with Oblivion, who were also defending Solution Nine and are now a de facto ruling power,
    • Depending on your willingness to do normal raids, we're a fighter in the Arcadion.

The events of Origenics and Living Memory, including the deaths of Zoraal Ja and Sphene, essentially happen as complete mysteries to the Alexandrians; they don't know who was there, they don't know exactly how it happened, and I question if they even know exactly what happened.

On top of that, as a people I actually suspect they don't especially link a bunch of causes and effects thanks to forgetting the dead; as weird as it sounds, they probably don't know what a murderer is. Not only do I not think that they'd necessarily suspect us as the person who killed both their monarchs, I actually don't know if they have the mental processes to conceptualize that anyone could kill anyone. To you this might be a normal if irrational human thought process, but I don't think it's true there.

In any case it's not inherently hypocritical to "love animals" but also use some individual animals as sustenance (so long as those animals are well cared for), but specifically for the Hhetsarro, what we know is that they treat the movement of the rroneek herds as a guide for their own movements while also at least occasionally killing individual rroneek for necessary resources.
Also, in reviewing my notes I don't actually see a mention that the hhetsaro don't eat the rroneek. Do you have something that says otherwise?

They definitely use their hide for their tents, and you don't exactly get that from a living rroneek. My best reckoning is that they do skin and, yes, eat dead rooneek, but they don't kill them to do it.

I'm not saying they don't. I think they do.
