    The Lindbum doomsday weapon speculation

I think the Lindblum doomsday weapon should still remain in the back of our minds because while The Ninth is not a dead shard, it's just one in ruin, the plans for the weapon or more of the weapon could still exist. It would be catastrophic if the weapon resurfaced again.

I think 'in an act of madness,' Linblum sent an electrope bomb into their Aetherial Sea, and detonated it where it would be below Alexandria which caused permanent damage to their life stream. I think we can see evidence in Heritage Found with the lightning geysers as well as in the sky box where it seems like something ruptured from below old Alexandira. All the purple goo might be corrupted life stream bubbling up to the surface.

I think for this, it's valuable to think about it in terms of the absolute minimum. Given the evidence we have available, what is the literal smallest thing that Lindblum could've packed to do what we know they did?

In this case, I believe the main evidence is the second part of the Alexandria dungeon; I haven't exactly done a lot of tracing of Lindblum's various implied presences, and it's not even entirely clear if this is the result of an attack and not just the Storm Surge doing its thing, but I'm pretty sure we can use it. In that case, our 'absolute minimum' actually isn't very big at all: a bunch of buildings are still intact, and while there's craters and scarring along the ground, it's all from above. In fact, you can see what's causing at least some of it, and it's a few purple orbs swooping in and blasting the ground.

So I actually suspect that Lindblum might not have a doomsday weapon; instead, they had technology well-suited for the context they were in, perhaps comparable to the Garlean Empire whenever it... you know, wasn't trying to drop a moon on the planet. Electrope-powered conventional warfare, rather than electrope-powered apocalypses.

Mostly speculations but I'd say is was likely some form of Ark.

I'd say they were probably the "good guys" in the conflict, as Alexandria's Dome is pretty much EW Sharlayan's plan for the end of the world.

(and I don't put It past the writers to just go "what if we reused the plot of the previous expansion, but they lose")

So yeah, some sort of mini-Zodiarch. it's most likely out there somewhere with Ninth WoL's shard in it.

Hold on, wasn't the 9th shard rejoined with the source? The barrier put up by Alexandria prevented them from getting rejoined as well, but until it was merged there was literally nothing outside the barrier

The unlost world ("the Ninth") was not rejoined with the Source, no. A capital R Rejoining requires a synchronised Calamity of the same aspect in the Source, and Hades helpfully told us which shards were merged with which Calamity: the Calamity of Lightning (the second successful Calamity) resulted in the rejoining of the Twelfth shard.

The unlost world's Alexandria was merged (superimposed?) with Yyasulani through the use of interdimensional fusion enabled by the key, though not all was brought through as the top level of the Everkeep, Living Memory, remained behind a portal, which Y'shtola helpfully identifies as similar to a voidgate; an unlostgate if you will. Once Living Memory's Meso Terminal was shut down, we can see that the sky of the unlost world has cleared, and further, their moon remains intact, indicating the ninth shard of Zodiark was never merged with the Source.
