They really need to stop lowering the APM on jobs at every chance they get.
XIV is already painfully slow compared to every other MMO on the market and dumbing jobs down isn't going to make more people want to play them and has historically the opposite effect for the most part by turning away the people who actually enjoyed them.
I do understand where you are coming from, really, and you make a good point. Especially when you have choppy or laggy internet, using TCJ was a chore and a half, and not quite as enjoyable as it could be, whilst being incredibly punishing.I mean I completely agree with your philosophy, but this specific mechanic was actually bad. As I said it was too easy to break, it’s a very fast job and it’s very easy to misclick. The punishment is not just a slight dps loss, but it also misaligns and breaks your whole rotation.

Just because you don’t have cast times doesn’t mean that you should be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Multiple jobs have skills that root them in place even though they aren’t casters, TCJ was just something you played around and sandpapering it off adds nothing to the game
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

It's a similar issue to how we had it with ranged and the gauss barrel. It just doesn't feel satisfying.
Their flow is unchanged. They just removed 1 of 2 failure states for TCJ.
They're setting DRG up like SMN, trying to clean it up so it can be interesting later in 9.0.![]()
