You hardly need to do some kind of massive amount of researching for this info. The FFXIV reddit has a discord channel dedicated to unofficial translations of live letter. If that's too much 'lifting' for you, SE generally posts an official translation on the forums about 10-12 days after the live letter stream.

Yeah but this is the kind of thing that's 'not' going to work for me if it's the only path (and people like me, aka all my friends who have unsubbed)
I'm unsubbed, I'm not going resub for 7 weeks into a game I no longer have any friends in (friends stopped playing, dead DC, transferred, gave up soon after) to get ready for one event. Even if we did we are not logging on, grinding out the same one alliance every night and logging off. Maybe one or two nights, guaranteed to get what you need for that week. I mean its possible I might, but I'd need to change my mind. If this is to be any use to casual-ish players, it needs to be prep-able in about a week really. Or, there needs to be other stuff to get them re-subbed for those 7 weeks its going to take

But again, you can't make content just me me, or my friends

As for discord and reddit. I'm not subbed routinely anymore. I'm just not going to get that involved. I'll catch highlights on the Patchnotes. Re-sub, and jump into the game and want to hit the ground running. I won't be wanting to get involved in lots of big social discord servers when I've just hoped back into a game where I don't know anyone anymore. Reddits fine, but only for finding information as its needed. It no good reddit saying "Yeah... you needed to start playing 7 weeks ago". Because that will be a 'nope!'
