It was not perfect, and RNG was a bit frustrating at times, but it was fun to play. Then we get a minority in the forums, who mind you were not even healer mains, complaining about how awfully hard the job is, how the only useful card was The Balance because we focus on DMG more than fun play, and every other card was garbage because it messes my rotation, etc, and the job was dumbed down and homogenized to a point where you are practically playing any other healer. They attempted to diversify the buff kit once again, but for me it still doesn't feel interesting or fun to play AST anymore, if anything it feels like a chore. And don't get me started on SCH.
Homogenization of roles killed the fun.
Story wise, I don't feel like the majority here. I don't know what you guys were expecting, but for me it was a fun start. We got closure to the Hydaelyn ark in EW, so DT is kind of like the ARR of whatever is to come next. I don't think anyone had fun running to and from the Waking Sands, but at that point we were all new to the game and had so much to do that it kept us distracted from the slow pacing and chore-ish bits of the story. ARR was awfully long before they cut off some of the quests. To me, despite the odd bits here and there, the experience was positive.
SB is still the worst expansion in my opinion, Lyse < Wuk Lamat by a mile, I was glad she left the scions for good. Wuk Lamat is not my favorite either, but I don't think she's going to join us permanently (fingers crossed) so I don't mind. The pacing of SB was so bad finishing the MSQ was a pain for me. Shinryu was amazing though. The patches were much better, but the main expansion was B.A.D.
