That sums up my point of view. I'm fine with seeing gear I dislike on people because if they like it, what does my opinion matter?

Good design is not subjective, watch here:

I think most Armor in this game suffer from "overdesign" , there is too much crap attached to the armor pieces that creates a visual clutter.
My Point is perfectly valid, just look around in the game what glamour people use.

Neither mine, nor anyone else's claim was that "design" is subjective. The claim was that "taste" is subjective. Those are not the same... Let's look at the same thing with a different sense: There are numerous examples of songs produced in the last couple decades that are bad. They have low-effort, low skill, and poorly executed compositions. They are objectively bad music. Despite this, there are numerous people who love these bad songs. Why? Because despite their design and composition being objectively bad, they fit the taste of the listeners that enjoy them. Taste is 100% subjective.Good design is not subjective, watch here:

But should the devs aim to cater to those with bad taste and like garbage? Or should they use their talent and make something that looks good.Neither mine, nor anyone else's claim was that "design" is subjective. The claim was that "taste" is subjective. Who's to say that the devs that designed the pieces you dislike don't actually like those pieces themselves? If I'm designing armor for a game, I'm not going to design something that I think looks bad. I'm going to design something I like. You'd be hard pressed to convince me that the devs of FFXIV are any different.
First, I'm on board with you. I don't like the current gear appearance.
But whose to say that we're the ones with good taste and those that like the current gear have bad taste? As has been repeatedly said, taste is subjective. I know players that absolutely love the current gear models. They love street gear, they love cyber punk and so the aesthetics are scoring with them.
So I shrug and make more use of my glamour dresser instead of using the new appearances.
I never took a good look at Neo Kingdom but Archeo Kingdom is 100% Rinascita updated for the second dye channel and new graphics. I know the crafted sets are frequently older gear models being reused but to be reusing such a very recent crafted set was extremely disappointing. However, there's one objective thing that can be looked upon is to keep repeating themselves - some collections really look too similar to previous items. One example of this is the Neo-Kingdom items kind of resembling the Rinascita sets from Endwalker. With more diversity with the sets they provide, more people might be happy.
But I'd still rather use it (or even the original) than the current tomestone and raid gear for glamour.
Except they don't have complete creative freedom. They're going to be given a theme to work around. If the theme is not to their liking, they might well be designing something they don't personally like.Who's to say that the devs that designed the pieces you dislike don't actually like those pieces themselves? I mean to be fair the raid gear matches the theme....wrestling...i dont agree with how it looks but it gets its point across as well as tome gear. I rarely ever like tome gear so not a real miss for me.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.
I don't want all, or even most, of the gear we receive to appeal to me. And that's because my tastes are not everyone's tastes, so to cater to me to such an extent would mean that others' desires were being disproportionately neglected.
I love it when I see people wearing outfits I would absolutely never want to wear, because that lets them show off their personality, and I get to see that. Whether I think they look like a clown or whether they're making it work, that makes the world of FF14 a more diverse and thus interesting place to spend time.
Though honestly, I think so much of the gear in this game is great; the only reason I wear so few pieces is because the Glamour system is limited to a meager 20 outfits. If they had 200 slots, I'd probably have 200 different outfits saved, and I'd be even more desperate for more Glamour Dresser space than I am now.
I do find the current raid and tome gear pretty ugly, but as others have said, taste is subjective.
My biggest issue though is that the raid gear really isn't representative of the raid at all. Nobody in the raid wears that style of gear, it doesn't fit the futuristic aesthetic of solution 9 and the Arcadion, it feels like gear the developers had cooked up for something else and threw in there.
I absolutely love this raid's gear because it all looks like it's made out of pro wrestling belt material and I am so incredibly here for that, it's thematically perfect and the designs are dead-on what I want out of a pro wrestling themed raid. I don't want all future tiers to be the same thing, but for the first tier it is magnificent gear.
Taste is subjective.
