People thinking a dude from JP or from light is going to go to aether to raid lmao
I always say SE is holding the game back, but its yall just holding the game back because you dont want the game to evolve in the right direction.

Jepp, they really think it. Because they cannot handle it, that there is a difference between physical and logical datacenters. And they believe, that problems, caused by Aether on NA datacenters will affect them too. I try to imagine, how fun it will be to play on Aether from the EU. Way more disconnects, a 120 ms higher latency, staying awake up to 2:00 am because of the time shift ...
xD
Cheers
broo I already play on NA as an EU resident bc the majority of my friends who play FFXIV are from NA, I'm already living the 150ms raiding hell haha
Big agree. It makes no sense to assume EU or JP is suddenly going to die because they can go to aether. Aether being the sole raid server is an NA problem and not EU/JP problem. Both regions have their respective scenes and communities that are thriving. Cross region is going to give more opprotunities for players to play with others. Saying "just go to Oceania" makes no sense because NA or EU statics won't suddenly go to Oceania just to play with one person. Especially when specific players may not be used to high ping. This is mostly going to be a benefit for high ping raiders and playing with friends, and also visit other communities in different regions.
This , the average person isn't going to cross region to do savage lol, like yes there are EU players and (NA players) who do have characters on EU and NA who do savage and extremes and stuff, but thats far from the majority, static raiding timezones would make this very hard to do lol
Its a non issue and people fearmongering about this are comparing apples to oranges in regards to the Aether situation

There’s some clear flip-flopping happening in this thread. On the one hand, people are saying they want cross-region travel so they can raid and play with friends from other regions. But in the next breath, it's being argued that the average player won’t use the feature to raid, making the entire thing pointless. So which is it? Are we pushing for cross-region play because we genuinely want to connect with people from other regions, or are we assuming most players won’t even bother? There's a contradiction here.
99.99% chance probably a Titanman alt
