For coincounter I straight tank him in double HP gear anyway
meaning... in which case the difference is 550hp...

Fair point. I just wanted to draw attention to how they can be geared differently. That being said, putting the same double melded HP belt on PLD won't make as drastic a difference as 3670 HP in full party. We'll see what 1.22 brings I guess.

I don't have a single piece of double meld gear or Sentinels and I tank just fine. Skills can overcome stat differences, gear just helps you to more easily achieve favorable results.

and thats good i applaud anyone who chooses pld over war but that whole Skill vs gear argument is very weak and is only used as a crutch for players who think that by saying this statement will make someone overlook that at the end of the day a skilled tank with good gear is better than a skilled tank with not as good gear.
