Multi-color Chocobos?

Hello and sorry if this was posted before or elsewhere, but is there any information about raising chocobos like we did in XI? Or later down the line purchasing colors for our current chocobos from our grand companies? (Pimp my Chocobo? lol)

I spent a good month raising a beautiful red chocobo in XI and I would give anything to see him again with his bright red feathers in XIV.

It is in the works for 2.0. It's going to be something we'll be able to do in our residences.

I have always hoped since the release of ffxiv that one day we shall see Chocoraiser or Chocobreeder as a DOL class. I think it would be awesome and just plain fun. I really hope something like this gets implemented (job style) rather than just a random thing you can do.

Problem is they have already given out Chocobo Whistles and other mount systems. The whole premise of going out, finding an egg or buying one from a breeder. Raising it slowly and over time. Caring for it and bringing it up happy and strong so you have a ride anywhere anytime is now nixed.

Aside from looking different what is the point of breeders now?

Depends on statistical difference really. Grand Company chocobo could be the first one, then after that you'd have to start breeding at an NPC stable for the next, after which you can breed your own. Really need to know more about the mount system in 2.0, but the whistles don't mean this isn't possible.

Well, lots actually. There could potentially be numerous uses for raised chocobos. SE said they want 2.0 to be like an amusement park, full of everything. Why couldnt we raise chocobos to race in choco races? Or raiseyour choco a certain way and feed it certain items throughout its chocohood, so it can be the fighter you want it to be in 2.0? Suppossedly chocos will be able to fight alongside you in 2.0....it would be boring and dumb to consider, if all you could do with them is change their gear. <_<

You could also raise different types of chocobos by feeding them certain things throughout chocohood, so when they are adults, you could use them or choco digging, and only certain ones could dig up certain items. Or there could be areas where only certain types of chocobos could cross, and you'd have to raise your own to be able to cross it.....That's just a few ideas. Things aren't so linear all the time. Have some creativity and imagination^^

Having chocobreeder as a DOL class is an excellent idea and I know a lot of people who would pay a lot for a chocobo that was 20% faster than a regular chocobo for example...plus all of Voltas idea's.
