Wuk Lamat is a primal!

Wuk Lamat came to Sharalyan and convinced rather easily the scions to assist her. Considering the repercussions of a political new leader which can cause waves in the rest of the world. The WoL may or may not have become tempered, too, since he went along with it all with no question.

Wuk Lamat solved all her problems around her with the power of friendship and will of force....but in reality, she was using her primal powers to subdue and subjugate the people around her to do her bidding.

Alisaie, the usual jump into the fray and assertive girl, and the other scions, who are always cautious about leadership types considering all the history we go through...suddenly do not mind nor question how Wuk is just going from town to town solving decade long conflicts with a smile and telling people to cooperate. Nor do they question why there is little conflict in Tural with everyone happy and content.

Wuk Lamat finds a long lost civilization of memories...and then tells them that they can still live happily together, ignoring their opposite positions. But because everyone is just robots and memories, it doesn't work out quite that well...

Until Sphene at the very last minute actually hears listens to her. Wuk Lamat's primal powers are truly something to even go beyond the physical into cyberspace.

Now we wait for one of the scions...possibly Y'shtola or Urianger, to wake up in the middle of the night one of these days and realize what just happened before they congregate and consider a plan to eradicate the primal that was under their nose all this time once and for all.

But, OP, Wuk has to be summoned first to be a primal right?!

IIRC it's the blessing of light that prevent us from being tempered, not the echo since Zodiark's enjoyer Ascian were tempered. Unless i missed something or misunderstood.

People tend to focus way too much on Wuk Lamat and way too little on the plentiful other aspects of how poorly the MSQ is written. If they killed off Wuk Lamat and we never had to see her again, I genuinely don't think that alone would improve the story one bit, because Wuk Lamat was simply the most prominent vehicle for one particular writer's lack of skill. Get rid of Wuk Lamat and that lack of skill will simply be poured into other characters, whether new or old.

A lot of the story was poorly written, especially the setting. Each zone lacked the depth of previous expansion zones. I can accept that everyone is primitive so their history is still new. But Mamool area should have had a lot more to it, including its sister area it shares the same map with. And let's not get started on not knowing much about the important side characters. It felt like only Sphene got that, and even then it was only barebones...like a Disney movie.

Various stories demonstrate that the Ascians are not truly tempered; while they have an elemental bias towards Darkness, Emet-Selch, Fandaniel, and Mitron all take courses of action that go against the resurrection of Zodiark, with Fandaniel literally enacting a plot to kill him.

It actually explains it a lot. For some reason, she kept scaling in power through the expansion, which meant the more followers she got, the stronger she was becoming.
