People tend to focus way too much on Wuk Lamat and way too little on the plentiful other aspects of how poorly the MSQ is written.

Uh ... no? If you actually read the most of the discussion a lot of people said a lot of thing about the msq in general and not just Wuk Lamat. But she's the mascot and main character of the story, so naturally she becomes the face of the issue. Just because a lot of complain is about her specifically (and for good reason), doesn't mean people are not talking about other issues. They're not mutual exclusive.
