Half-Elezen as a midground between Hyur and Elezen then? Because pointy-eared Hyur is too shallow.

Not to mention the inevitable flood of requests for half-everything-else.

That's the beauty of it, it's as simple as slapping pointy ears on midlanders. Not a lot of resources required, that way those can be focused on more important stuff like improving options for the current races.
I feel like Hyur and Elezen are close enough, but I absolutely don't want to see any other half-races. They should all be kept as distinct species, with no interbreeding. Imagine a half lala half roe. Just a giant beefy roe with a potato head. It would be an absolute monstrosity, a sin against nature.
