You taking what I said that personally doesn't do anyone any favors. How am I supposed to know if I don't know you? For all I know, you're one of those guys who zone in, rush through and don't care about your group... which is the majority of tanks you meet in duties. And you can't even prove you're different, because a duty is done after a few minutes, way too short for your group mates to notice.
Sorry, but you might have to live with the fact that, at least in duties, with random people, you might not be able to do whatever you want, even if you're god's gift to mankind and the greatest DRK to ever walk Eorzea.
There's literally a thread to say this is exactly what we want lmao
eh? Now I have no clue what you're taking about. Let me highlight my reply to show you what it was in response to...

I didn't think it possible for someone to not know about World of Warcraft, but here we are.
I have been able to let a few DRK tanks I know of proc their Living Dead, but it does require tight communication. During the Endwalker times for the end of expansion, I literally have to stop all healing period for it to proc. Just putting up any Regen from my WHM could ruin the proc. We already bump heads with the Holy stuns possibly making TBN fizzle with no free Dark Arts too. It got to the point where my savage DRK tank friend just gave up on trying to time it. Since we might confuse new PuGs to stop all healing then all of a sudden heal.
If I had to guess which of your proposed solutions would be preferred, it might end up being the latter actually to shut down heals while using your invuln. It might need to have a 50% max HP heal tagged on if it expires without you "dying" to make up for the heal shutdown. That way there is still a reason to try and keep the DRK damage higher than the WAR and PLD. Whether the patch addressed this issue for you or not we will see soon enough. One could make a point for DRK to be the highest DPS tank if they are to have the lowest defences compared to the others.
You sound like you at least mostly understand, and that's great. I would actually prefer to not even need Living Dead in dungeons. But, since getting a healer that doesn't put me in the situation of using my last resort is a rare occurance, the only way that's happening is if dark knight gets some self sustain. The patch only addressed dark knight damage balance, but gunbreaker is still doing to be top dps and still have better self sustain. If we are going to continue being taxed more heavily than gunbreaker for being a high damage tank, then dark knight should at least be the highest dps among tanks, so you hit the nail on the head there.I have been able to let a few DRK tanks I know of proc their Living Dead, but it does require tight communication. LOL YES OK...
Hmm very strange how I rarely need Holmgang, but you virtually always need Last Resort. We must get better healers on Chaos or maybe just throwing it out there it might be a YOU problem.

Holmgang, Warrior’s invuln. You know—the meme, the myth, the legend, Square Enix’s favorite child, the unkillable tank, the one healers complain about on the forums because getting put in a party with a Warrior supposedly leaves them with nothing to do? That Warrior, right?
Very strange indeed.
If we're going on all WAR's kit then that's a different thread and plenty to choose from.Holmgang, Warrior’s invuln. As for DRK i've not played it, but from a healer perspective there seems to be a higher skill ceiling on DRK. When I come across them in dungeons it's either I don't have to worry about them or it's babysitting their health bar. But back to Last Resort the only time i've seen it used is in the 100 dungeons the first couple of weeks and endgame. Not ALL the time as OP stated.
Now if they are using it for every big pull as a safety crutch then again that's their problem.
