Frontlines sucks Ultra megathread

The community does need some cleaning, sure, but "premade curb stomping" is not on the bingo card. I'm a mostly solo player, barre more recently with a few of my friends because I enjoy playing with them and have fun with them, but if I play solo, I do okay by myself. I'm not sorry, it really is a lack of something when it comes to people thinking that this is an issue. But if you don't want to listen to the advice people who do like to play with other people and continue to willingly deafen your ears, that's on you. The only place I see the circle jerking of complaining about premades is here. Don't like it? Do something about it, even if it's giving up, like you chose.

Isn't that simply because the only other arena in which you get any PvP discussion at all is the Discord servers with their voice and LFG channels where these 70%+ premade win-rates are generated?

The place I see most of the criticisms of premades and overbearing commanders is FL chat.

I'm finding this discussion pretty funny at this point. Are we really supposed to take it seriously when this stream of premade members and commanders come in here and yell "No! You're all completely wrong! Premades are perfectly fine and do not have a negative impact on the mode!"

We then get a list of the various ways premades can be countered. Again. Which happens once in a blue moon when enough strong solo players happen to land on the same team.

You cannot avoid this fundamental stat: premades self-report 70%+ win-rates. The idea that that is acceptable in what SQEX promotes as its entry-level, casual PvP mode is simply laughable.

Since the 7.1 PvP changes have now been locked in, La Résistance is returning to the shadows.

We are sick of the gaslighting and mendacity emanating from the Discord Mafia.

To be told our experience of the mode is "wrong" is abusive.

To be told repeatedly by the Discord Mafia that we should quit playing the mode is abusive.

We have softened our position from banning premades to instituting a matchmaking algorithm, yet still we are told our choices are to play the (excruciatingly dull) way the Discord Mafia dictates, or to leave.

We are told this will beaten into us.

There are plenty of places to discuss PvP, Discord is just the easiest form of media to do it. I've talked about Pvp on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and probably a few more places that I cant remember. If people like PvP and they like to solo queue, that's fine. It makes me wonder do these people ever want to make friends with PvP regulars and play with them? Or even friends outside of PvP. I don't play PvP to win, I play it because it's fun. It's fun to win. I like playing with my friends and having fun. Maybe my word choice wasn't the best, but I still stand by it. I've seen the comments made by you in screenshots saying unsavory things about my friends, who are just having fun with their own friends, so I'm more leaning into taking being disappointed with my comment with a grain of salt.

If you're disappointed by any of what I have to say, then all I can say that it is what it is. My win rate is pretty abysmal, it's only 38%. It could be higher, but I don't feel like it. I like just having fun and getting big numbers when I can, which is when I solo queue. Maybe one day we can party up and you can see how fun it is to play with other people and that winning with your friends is fun. Until then, I wish you well.

If Square Enix really wants to balance Frontline they should make the maps even smaller and the scores lower for an 8v8v8. No damage reduction. One player per job. No job stacking. No DOT stacking. The issue with premades wouldn't be as grand since you're not getting snowballed by 20 other people who know to follow along. If the PvP in this game is so centered towards CC then frontline should adhere it's balance. Either this or make a Ranked gamemode with these rules

No longer 70%+ Win rate for this week and I can mainly chalk it up to people grinding my face into the dirt when I dive on them. PUSH BACK PEOPLE!! IT WORKS!!!

If people are interested, there are always a bunch of FL players in wolve's dens either in Seraph or in Adamantoise, it's always fun to have more people to play with and if you really are wanting to get into it, there are good communities for that and very helpful (Pvp in general, but also for frontline)

When I first started playing PvP, I asked around the den for a few pointers and slowly learned by myself in-game, during a time of 5.x where things were definitely not so straight forward as to "have 6 buttons + LB" like now. Adamantoise was one of the nicest places and all these people who others chalk up to "premades" or "sweats" actually sat in tells and some even missed a queue or two to help teach me some better combos and learn standard stuff! I wanted to share the knowledge I had with other players, I try to help out with dueling and FL as much as I can, if people are willing to learn. That isn't to say however that my first time meeting Jessa Marko; they seemed a bit angry that others were gathering around during a 6.x event and have some fun together, was calling people names, saying they're stupid, ruining the mode etc. I asked politely like "hey man! want to just have some fun and join in? I'm alright with taking you along if you'd like" to the response I got was "you're just like the rest of them". I've seen them queue dodge, leave a game as its going after dying once, yell at people constantly, be rude to someone who made ONE PING about scooting back a bit. Hell actually, I see them leave games constantly or sit idle and scream at people for enjoying the mode more than them. So yes Mawlzy, you've been rude to me. You've been horribly rude to many of my friends who I play for fun with. You yell about a fire that you yourself have been a part of for more than months, it's disappointing, you bring hate to yourself not by what you believe in but how you fight for it. You attack others with ad hominem and cut every situation with anything BUT occam's razor. just, relax, man... nobody is out to get you like you've been thinking. Playing solo for all these years I've learned to just roll with the punches. Even then I've gotten a very high average win rate and I play solo 90%+ of the time. I do not however, like 1600/100/100 stomps and never will. I don't grow as a player and I don't like seeing the little ones be trampled into the ground since I know those players--JUST LIKE ME back then--could be the next generation of "okay maybe one more FL".

The logic in "hating premades" falls apart like wet paper towels when you realize that during peak hours, if all of those "premades" were to queue solo, they'll be put into teams together anyways with other players they know. 30+ good players queueing solo will have a similar effect to that same match as "premades" do.

I am determined to leave this discussion, but cannot let this pass without noting most of it is pure fiction. I will leave matches when I know I am not going to enjoy them (most commonly because Olivia is on my team) but I never sit idle. If by "queue dodge" you mean try to get off-cadence with premades, of course I bloody do. The only time I have ever addressed people at the den is when the Princesses were spitefully disrupting matches by Q-synching, then all playing the same job. I would never refer to anyone as "stupid," I have a far more flexible vocabulary. The only person I have ever been rude to who didn't deserve it was Xael. Something I acknowledged publicly in Discord and apologized for privately to him.

The only couple of times I've felt people were out to get me was when I got vote-kicked from FL matches despite having said nothing at all and fully participating. If that's what I get for expressing my opinions about the damage premades are doing to the mode, I don't think I'm the problem here. As noted by others in this thread, your community needs cleaning up.

Honestly, this is unbelievable. Yet another member of the mafia crawling out of the woodwork to make their first post to slander me. Who's next?

Once again, you make my case for me by displaying this vengeful toxicity.
