How would that work on DC that only have one match going at a time? The premades would still get pops with non premades.Because they ruin everything, rats that play behind and stack up battle highs for coordinated burst you can't counter at all.
Idiots who say that this is ok would love to play wow classic when blizzard didnt care about pvp balance so even 40:60 servers was a corpse camp fiesta, they just want to see people miserable and laugh at them while they get +1 on achievement for literally useless mount/gear/ w/e. But nah get good, salted earth that sucks you from 9km away because tickrate is balanced.
I hope SE stops this trash. You want to play with "friends"? Stay in queue and have a high chance to facing against premade you coordinated to click queue button at same time.
My man, and I mean that with all empathy, this is literally video game addiction speak. No amount of changes to both the reward system or PvP will ever fix things for you if you don't enjoy a PvP game mode in the first place. Engaging for hours upon hours in an activity that you loathe in the way you described, is neither healthy nor rational. If any of my friends were talking about any of their hobbies the way you do, they would get an intervention.
To be fair, it's in what you qouted. I like the game enough. They've made some rock stupid decisions here and there with directions and the like, but my issue is the F.O.M.O. items inside the battlepass. I'm sorry, I mean the Series system. I HAVE to participate in this clown fiesta garbage content to progress it. There is literally no other way. Now I don't have to do it. There's an argument to be made there, but if I don't, the items effectively go away forever. Now, since I didn't invent this dogshit system, I have to operate within its rules. You can feign mortality all you want and virtue signal until the cows come home, but the fact remains that this mode sucks. It's not fun and for a multitude of reasons. My man, and I mean that with all empathy, this is literally video game addiction speak. No amount of changes to both the reward system or PvP will ever fix things for you if you don't enjoy a PvP game mode in the first place. You speak of addiction to me as I am saying my peace about to unsubscribe till more than likely the end of this dogshit expansion. Maybe longer. Honestly, everything from the story to the content is so stale that I thought it came out of a foodbank box.
The point is let me have my feedback. Saying it's shit. Which it is. Is still feedback.
Have a good day.

Salted Earth is not really broken; it is just requires less skill to coordinate. It only seems broken under EN/EU frontline because most of NA/EU players is unable to organize with random players
This is our problem just like our players cannot clear Savage with random group while Korean, Chinese, and Japanese can easily done so
Another forced loss against party q abusers
At least this time i blacklist/remember all these idiots and avoid in pf if given chance
So sad I AM BEING PUNISHED FOR PLAYING THE GAME NOT THEM

So I've gotten used to Frontlines and been playing it quite a bit more(even made it into the Standings for the month weee!) since my last post in this thread; It's quite fun, but I feel like there are a number of flawed or questionable design choices.
After trying a few matches as a DRK I stand by my opinion that for what Salted Earth does they need to have more of a sense of risk. Maybe I got lucky, but I felt like I had no reason to fear getting bodied and I'd just run in to swarms and ambush groups with it without any worry. I do feel the action is not bad in itself, but needs adjustments.
- Netcode - This seems like maybe more of a recent issue? I'm unsure as I'm still kind of new, but there seems to be some consistent problems with the game having lag problems(For clarity I don't mean frame rate.). This seems to be really bad around certain times of day and I'm not alone in that either apparently.
- Crowd Control - This is kind of wild to me to see in MMO PvP. It is way to easy to get completely locked down until you die in Frontlines. Usually there is some form of diminishing returns or immunity to prevent someone for example getting chain pulled 4+ times in a row. You can use the guard sure but there is a pretty hefty cooldown on it and you have to purify yourself before you can actually use guard.
- objectives vs kills - This one I'm conflicted on because I almost understand the need of Battle high as a means to keep people actively playing instead of just being turtles and sitting an entire match out with "let them fight" approach being THE go to rule. However I feel like the way things are implemented now the designs of the objectives are flawed and they seemingly take a backseat in most cases to kills. The modes feel more like death matches than King of the hill/Domination(my age is showing)
- Little incentive to actually try - To be blunt Frontlines doesnt offer much incentive to actually perform better. I feel many in this thread and even in game acknowledge a good chunk of folks just show up for the roulette bonus and call it a day. That's no fun...
- Self inflicted frustration - This might be a bit touchy, but I feel like biggest point of frustration is self inflicted in the way many people approach Frontlines. I do think premades can tilt the direction a game is going, more so if they're using the typical Salt Earth diving macros. However they aren't invincible and can be countered if people communicate and pay attention. Most matches I lost even without going against very obvious premade setups were because the chat was dead silent and very few people from my observation keep their map open to watch for pinches, node spawns, and determining if they're spread too thin. The slightest bit of communication/coordination makes a world of difference and people need to do that more.
Anyway that's just my updated thoughts so far. I hit character cap so had to trim some areas...
the netcode is the main reason this game is not a very good pvp game. things are unresponsive. and batched. many animations are delayed making it even worse. learning the netcode is a whole thing on its own, that shouldn't really be there to begin with. that is not something that can really fix, though, without redoing the entire game.So I've gotten used to Frontlines and been playing it quite a bit more(even made it into the Standings for the month weee!) since my last post in this thread; It's quite fun, but I feel like there are a number of flawed or questionable design choices.

crowd control is silly in frontlines because they gave almost every job a low cooldown cc with a low duration. this was in pvp revamp for crystalline conflict. which is much smaller scale. it does not translate to large-scale very well because you can have up to 24 people attacking you with control in a short span. outside of purify it is very easy to get locked down indefinitely if you are the first target people see.
this leads to why people do not care. ffxiv is not a pvp game really. it is an added mode because it was desired and almost standard in MMO, but is hardly a focus of any development. most people pvp for only daily roulette exp/tome.

I genuinely agree with this so much. My biggest issue with Frontlines right now is that people will have three-four DRKs on a team, and use that advantage to pull other players into giant AOEs and just spam kills. It's absolute insanity and just makes it genuinely not fun for other players. If you wanna be an edgelord and do that over and over again, play Rival Wings or CC. Don't do it in frontline. It's lame and makes it so much less fun for others. I'm fine with it being chaotic, that's part of the reason I *love* frontlines. It's just... eh. If you want a game with PVP so bad, play League or Smite. Don't make it unenjoyable for casual players.
Compile your hatred for Frontlines here. Seems to be a million threads with the same general sentiments that go on for months at a time. Just put all your rage here. Especially when that Samurai LB's you, RNG steals a win from your team, or you just get pulverized to dust by DRK/AST premades.
We all want front lines to be a fun experience, which it currently IS NOT. This is a fundamental fact of the game mode. It's not fun for solo queuers, it's not fun for premades, it's not fun for the players who just want their free experience for the day.
We are given maps that have;
Too many PvE elements.
RNG being too much of a deciding factor in victories.
Flawed, unbalanced design.
Yes, the netcode is a problem with PvP. Yes the community has become apathetic to the problems with PvP as a whole. Those aren't reasons strong enough to stop us from constantly complaining about the same issues for 6 months at a time until they EVENTUALLY address them... Half heartedly.

So one major thing I want to get off my chest that REALLY drives me up a wall in Frontlines more than any other aspect of the game is targeting. It's not exactly great in the game overall, but in Frontlines Tab target and click target feels absurdly terrible and I scream because especially on NIN I might miss a clear kill shot because targeting is so poopy lol. It's a little better making a macro for nearest target to go along with the cycling target and adjusting settings, but even that feels so bad compared to what I'm used to.
