You choosing them to use them in bulk is a problem you've created for yourself.

Keep in mind that they're coming from the level 100 exploration ventures. Most players are still working on MSQ and if they aren't level 100 yet, then their retainers can't be level 100.

Once more players get their retainers to 100, the supply will increase and prices will drop. Give it a month. There will be a lot more retainers capable of doing the venture. Data center travel will be back and that will help improve access even more.
