I mean it is explicitely stated that the only residents of Alexandria were Hyur, Elezen, and Lalafells.I agree that there needs to be more race representation.
I explored Solution 9 yesterday and dind't see a single Au'ra.
Even the Miqo'te were quite a few between.
It could be reasoned that those died when that shard was ravaged by lightning or rejoined if it was but at least I would like in game telling and maybe one or two quests about that stuff.
I think there are a bit too much Hyur sometimes and I wished there was more diversity.
Did we ever really have a Duskwhight somewere in the story other then the lancer questline?
Miqo'te and Viera were scooped up when the dome appeared.
Well, you seem familiar.
Also, au ra have a whole zone for themselves, and it's lore accurate that Xaela concentrate there. Raen are in Thavnair and Hingashi, that's also lore accurate. Not every race will be everywhere.
Meanwhile, we still haven't seen anything for Hellguard roes or Duskwights, and the lore of miqo'te has barely been explored this xpac.
As a lalafell who keeps winning lorewise I say, let others have the spotlight.
Like i mentioned before, i'm mostly talking about MSQ characters, not representation as NPCs in the world.
Duskwights at the very least have finally gotten just a tiny bit of representation with the whole solution 9 elezen folk being Dusk, this is not saying other races shouldn't get represented just cuz i want Au Ra story characters.

There have been many au'ra MSQ characters. *Many.* Even in EW alone. I know it's been a few years since SB but Sadu, Cirna, and Magnai all have frequently reappeared in MSQ for a start.Like i mentioned before, i'm mostly talking about MSQ characters, not representation as NPCs in the world.

I get the passion, I've been a loud outcryer for hellsguard rep for 10 years for likewise just wanting to see More, but you can't be that blind to the amount of tangible, namable characters who're au'ra that've been in the MSQ. No, you cannot argue that Vrtra's simulacrum isn't representation because guess what: he was made that way to suit both his cover and because it made him naturally fit in with Ahewann. The amount of them in sidequests too is quite a large sample size as well.
They are over-represented. Let other races shine for a bit. Let the new lore for existing ones relevant to a whole new continent actually develop as well.

I don't really understand this sentimentality of "If this race gets represented, it means these other ones won't!" because i am not advocating for other races/clans to not be represented (because a lot of the arguments against what i said was mostly focused on clans and not the race as a whole).
The perfect example of what i want is a character like Yugiri, which she was nice, but she got written hard out of the story, and she'll probably never be relevant again.
The argument still falls apart because the context of why it's used doesn't equal he's an actual au ra character, he's just a Dragon who uses an Au Ra shape when he has to tag around.
I want other races to be represented too, i still believe dusk elezen should get their lore actually elavorated because since ARR they forgot there's a whole city underneath Gridania. I think it's stupid to dismiss the argument entirely like it's a fight of who gets the screen time and who doesn't.
On the matter of characters, i think Mikoto should've been promoted to MSQ character long ago, since she was very likeable and would fit right away with the rest of the cast. That, or let us meet her supposed sister who's out there in the world but we don't know much about.
An entire zone dedicated to xaela customs and society it's far more than anyone could ask for and on top of that, they had rep during the campaing in Garlemald, the only ones close to that are lalafell with alo alo, and if we're using your argument, then we got shafted too on that regard since alo alo is not part of the msq.Like i mentioned before, i'm mostly talking about MSQ characters, not representation as NPCs in the world.

Meanwhile, we got one npc duskwight and a villain in a job quest back in ARR And hellguards? Do they even exist?
When we go to areas where isolationist people roam, then we'll see them again, but so far, they had a good run.
I find it a bit weird that for the steppe the argument is "Look at all these Au Ra customs!" when the zone is only about *Xaela* customs and not Au Ra in general, but for other cases we go "Ok but the duskwight clan didn't got represented!" because by the same coin of argument, i could argue we don't need more elezen lore cuz we got 3 elezen scions, so elezens are properly represented, ignoring the fact that there's a whole other clan which isn't represented. An entire zone dedicated to xaela customs and society it's far more than anyone could ask for and on top of that, they had rep during the campaing in Garlemald, the only ones close to that are lalafell with alo alo, and if we're using your argument, then we got shafted too on that regard since alo alo is not part of the msq.

I still believe that the Steppe kinda limited the Xaela clan because it meant that they're forever gonna be left behind in said place, and with more expansions coming, the fact that we're far past the stormblood days are gonna be more felt. Which is why i suggest there should be *MSQ* characters that represent an specific race instead. Like i mentioned before, i though Yugiri served that purpose well, but she got written out of the story hard.
If i were talking ONLY about representation in the world, counting all the generic NPC and minor quest givers, i wouldn't have an issue with how things are rn, this is mainly MSQ talk only, which is why i feel people are making an argument that i am not making.

The Azim Steppe is the Raen and Xaela shared homeland. Xaela culture is the original Raen culture.I find it a bit weird that for the steppe the argument is "Look at all these Au Ra customs!" when the zone is only about *Xaela* customs and not Au Ra in general, but for other cases we go "Ok but the duskwight clan didn't got represented!" because by the same coin of argument, i could argue we don't need more elezen lore cuz we got 3 elezen scions, so elezens are properly represented, ignoring the fact that there's a whole other clan which isn't represented.

Raen outside of the Steppe (basically all of them except those who joined that one tribe) do not have their own culture and instead seem to adopt the culture of whoever they live with instead. For example, the leader of the Raen Au Ra who landed on Thavnair was a khan, but any sort of Mongolian roots seem to no longer exist and their own gods were mixed with the Hyur and Matanga's. In the far-east, the Au Ra are described to have adapted to the local Hyur language and culture. It seems to have even reached the Raen isolated in Sui-No-Sato via the Kojin. Raen are described as adapting to new cultures and coexisting peacefully with other races, but that seems to have come at a cost of a culture of their own which seems to have originally been similar to that of the Xaela anyway.
I know this, but i think it's silly to say "Au Ra as a whole got represented there" because of the lore in it, one entire clan being absent in said place. It's like saying Dusk Elezen got properly represented because Gridania has Dusk Elezen lore in that place, despite only being like 2 of them in that place, and all of them misstreated. Yeah, the lore implies they exist in said place, but does that even mean anything? The Azim Steppe is the Raen and Xaela shared homeland. Xaela culture is the original Raen culture.
