Am I missing something, or was there not tons of Au Ra in Endwalker? The entire guard of Vrtra nearly? Or the part in the story lingering around a certain Au Ra? Am I remembering things wrong, or did people just forget?

They featured quite prominently in EW, even if Varshahn is technically cheating, but... I agree, I would still like to see an Au Ra (aside from my own) among the main cast! At this point I'm hoping we just find a reflection where they're a big deal. Would also give the devs complete creative freedom with regards to their culture! Like Voeburt in the First being a kingdom, with knights and princesses (I so badly wish it wasn't completely gone by the time we get there...)
Glamour without restrictions* is long overdue!
If you think so too, help keep the thread going!

Ironically, I think more races/clans need the au ra treatment. We get to visit and learn about multiple places where au ra live (the Azim Steppe, Sui-no-Sato in the Ruby Sea, Thavnair), which is something that a number of races/clans haven't gotten. I'd like to visit a village of duskwight elezen, moon miqo'te, or hellsguard roegadyn.
I won't deny that there's a noticeable lack of important au ra NPCs outside of Stormblood, though. And the one(?) time we had a somewhat important and serious character who appeared as a male au ra in the MSQ, they gave his face a completely different look than what players' male au ra can have, which makes me think they're regretting some of the aesthetic choices they made with male au ra faces. That might even be part of why they're so rare in the story.
I know this is an exceptionally stale opinion coming from a Dark Knight main, but, man, I love Sidurgu. I'd say they should put him in the MSQ, logic and quest continuity be damned, but the writers have been handing out Scion Standard Issue Blandification Arcs like candy lately, so I probably wouldn't be happy with the result.
Well, The continent of Tural in generally doesn't really seem to have any actual Au Ra population... So any Au Ra's there would have had to come from Alexandria.
Edit: Melee Role Quest has some Au Ra

Crying in Roe
EW was an Au Ra expansion. So it is enogh for now.
Cheers
Given au'ra turned up in places they originally weren't meant to be (I have a LOT of issues with Werlyt given all original lore for that region prior to that storyline implied it was roegadyn and highlander population since it's off of Abalathia's Skull and the land bridge from Aldenard into Ilsabard, not to mention it's name convention follows roe phonetics—yet we couldn't even get highlander women there just midlander and a HEAP of au'ra) and got a huge showing of population in Othard and Thavnair we can showcase other races for a while.
We didn't even get roe kids in Sharlayan, you guys have had kid models since Stormblood, so I'm just sayin' there are definitely other choices for rep very much needed and au'ra aren't it.
Still forever makes me mad. Could've learnt more about the original tribe of hellsguard that the art came from but no we got an awful comedy-romance xaela-centric plot.

ローエンガルデはその人種的特徴を維持する資格がある。CBU3は女性ルガディンのノーズ灰と黒目の瞳孔を調整してください。 私たちはゼーヴォルフ族ではありません。
They should do more race oriented stuff in general.
I went into Dawntrail with the expectation of finally seing native Viera lifestyle and learning more about their culture. Erenville was heading home and we tagged along after all.
I like Solution 9. I love Alexandria. But I cannot stress how disappointed I was, when the Viera settlement I was looking forward to was destroyed by rushed storytelling without me getting to experience it first.
