I was very happy with the game up until now and had no reason to come here. I'm mostly story-focused. I also enjoy a lot of other content, but I'm not super invested in the combat changes to comment on it, so everything was good to me until the end of 6.0.
I wasn't happy with the patches, but it wasn't enough to make me come here to talk about it - I expected it to be a test for new writers, and the expansion would have more experienced people in charge. YoshiP would often answer interviews and talk about the changes they were working on regarding gameplay and combat, so that was reassuring, and they seem to have kept their promise.

Now I'm posting here regularly to complain because I needed to get it out of my system somewhere and have the small hope of the devs listening to the forums. I'm very unhappy with the story, so much so that I didn't even feel like playing the game after finishing the MSQ until the raids came out, but I still want it to improve. Me complaining and voicing my opinion is my way of showing that I still care a lot, and I hope they fix this.

For me it really IS that bad, because the writing is poor and badly made. The story ideas themselves are not the main issue, but the way they're written is: characters not acting like themselves, their motivations not aligning with their actions, a lot of plot holes, things being told and not shown and in general being explained and solved like a children's story. A lot of lessons they should've learned in past expansions were completely thrown away, replaced by trying to mimic big moments in past expansions while not understanding why those big moments actually worked. It's very amauterish, especially for a 10-year-old game where they should've known better by now.
