When was the last time you've actually been in an MSQ Roulette instance where there were first-timers?

I have a feeling the "focus on the story boss battle" is just your poor attempt at hiding the "I just want another quick, easy roulette with fat EXP". Common, say it, there is no shame in that since I'm pretty sure most people want it. But I think there is a little shame in pretending though. The MSQ dungeons are just.... so boring. Not to mention that the cutscenes are UNSKIPPABLE... They need to be made into solo content.
Things like Ultima, the first battle against Ifrit, etc... those major story battles should be the MSQ Roulettes... this is just asinine. Long-winded for no reason. Everyone I know hates getting stuck in Prae lol. Just give the Prae XP bonus to Ultima and the like and get it over with already :/
So you're literally saying: "haha you want experience and tomes? we'll bore you to death for it. That's the price. Take it or leave it. Deal with it."Just gonna slip in and point out the very reason the MSQ roulette exists is because people didn't want to wait for cutscenes. Even if it's four players who have already cleared the dungeon, the bonus rewards you get that are much greater than other roulettes is precisely because of the extra time involved due to cutscenes. Letting people all skip the cutscene to speed it up but still get the same reward is a big NO from me.
I just prefer to say "nah screw that, this system sucks and whoever came up with it, sucks too."
Fine with making a dungeon last longer and adding in protection so new players can watch the cutscenes and others can't progress until new player is done watching, but if it's just 4 people who have heard Gayus' speech and sailor moon transformation a hundred times already, jesus man just let them skip and who cares if they get the tomes and experience much faster than before. It's such a silly take. There is literally no gameplay, nor enjoyment benefit to force 4 veteran players to watch the cutscenes again.
The extra stuff is as motivation to queue up so you can help any potential newbies who HAVE to do this dungeon. If there are no newbies, great, you get the rewards faster and you're motivated to do it again the next day. And if there are newbies, I don't mind waiting before a locked down bossroom at all, but also just let me skip, I don't see a benefit to have to watch the same damn cutscene I've seen a hundred times over already.

The system exist primary as a way to keep old content alive across the board in case a new player need it, and the reward is provided as an incentive for you to chimp in, not an obligation.
You also act like as if it's the only way you can get EXP and tome. If you want tome, go hunt and you have more than what you know to do with. You want "engaging and fat EXP" at the same time? I heard Algia and Copied factory is very lucrative right now.
This is like seeing people who being offered reward to help but want it to be all about them instead of the people they're supposed helping.
And you completely ignore the paragraph after it to intentionally miss the nuance. Good job.The system exist primary as a way to keep old content alive across the board in case a new player need it, and the reward is provided as an incentive for you to chimp in, not an obligation.

I'm more than willing to sit through a slower main scenario dungeon because a new player is watching cutscenes. And I'm sure most of us are like that.
But I find it a waste of my time, as well as the time of 3 others, if all 4 of us are veterans who queued up for this content for the sake of helping newbies to get through main scenario but instead all 4 of us have to sit through 30 minutes of drivel which does NOT help a newbie. In which case you CAN, logically, just give the rewards and let us out because the primary purpose of helping newbies is not applicable for this run.
I'm happy how the MSQ Roulettes are, if you don't like them don't do them no one is forcing you to do it.

I'd say it's a way to keep it fair....but I kinda wonder, how much time did players waste in total on MSQ roul... I mean after the first time, it is actually a waste to keep running it even if the exp/rewards are lucritive. I wonder if someone would get the tinfoil out.And you completely ignore the paragraph after it to intentionally miss the nuance. Good job.

On the other hand...I stopped running msq roul once I hit the level cap, I might run it if I'm desperate to cap on tomestones, and maybe help someone in NN if they ask but I'd never expose myself to it.
I personally don't mind it, granted they don't ever add more unskippable cutscenes in dungeons anymore...it's a relic of the past and I do enjoy chatting when the cutscene is happening if the party is nice. I met a few people like that....

People queue for the tomes/xp, not to help new ppl. Sometimes there are new people but most runs do not and you can’t queue expecting it. I do the MSQ roulette on jobs I don’t like for the XP. I don’t mind the cutscenes, it’s usually the last thing I do before logging off if I have time. I just get a drink and watch something on my other monitor during cutscenes. MSQ roulette is entirely optional. But I find it a waste of my time, as well as the time of 3 others, if all 4 of us are veterans who queued up for this content for the sake of helping newbies to get through main scenario but instead all 4 of us have to sit through 30 minutes of drivel which does NOT help a newbie. I get sprouts in the roulette on the reg. Usually during peak hours and especially on new worlds.
If you want to make the most of the MSQ roulette experience and help sprouts, jump over to Dynamis or the OCE DC and help those queue times.
Edit: Or whatever DC is new in your region
Same. If there are no sprouts then I'll usually meme on the cutscenes, ask where people are up to/what they think of current stuff and just chitchat. If it's a quiet group then I'll have a YT video on the side.
