What do you mean - Praetorium is awesome.
Half of the ~17 minute run is in cutscenes, so I can kick back and vibe. And I get a lot of XP and tomes for it.

Its fine as it is, you dont have to do it. The high bonus and the roulette exist only to help people.
I really don't mind prae or castrum nowadays. They're pretty dull but at least I can watch something on youtube or whatever. Ultima Weapon though, I hate getting that. Far too long of a fight where you spend most of it mashing one or two buttons.
I like it as it is; it helps players complete the content in a group, and it's nice and relaxing to play if you're familiar with it. I also like it for getting out a class again that I haven't played in a long time and am rusty at, while still helping someone else cause it's chill enough.
That said, I've often thought it might be nice to include the late MSQ trials of the expansions+patches cause those can take forever to get a queue when you're just going through the story, and just when you really want to continue as a player cause the narrative tension is at its peak.
And it'd break up the monotony of the same few pieces for the roulette players, too. The majority of instances would probably still be the ARR ones.

Msq roulette is there to fill for new players. They already trimmed it a lot and the massive rewards you get are for having to view the cutscenes. Do people think if the roulette was ifrit and titan the rewards would still be there?
You fundamentally don't understand the purpose of roulettes. They aren't meant to be content and XP for high-level players. They are meant to fill parties for lower level players doing MSQ. The XP is merely an incentive for higher level players who are leveling alts.
Even Expert roulettes are there to help fill parties for people doing the latest dungeons, and again tomestomes are merely an incentive

I don't mind the existence of the roulette much if it's for the sole purpose of helping new players.
However: Most of my Main Scenario roulettes, all 4 of us have done this before. 4 veteran players waiting and watching the cutscenes and listening to Gaius' speech really does not benefit any new player experience.
How hard is it to:
- lock bossrooms until everyone is out of cutscenes.
- if first time in dungeon, you can't skip cutscenes.
- if you've already done this, you can skip the cutscenes.
Results in the situation where if 4 players are just here for the roulette exp, and they all have done this content already, they can all skip and it unlocks the bossroom fast and get through it faster.
If 1 or more are newbies, then veteran players are not forced to watch the cutscenes, they can still skip but they are locked out of bossroom until newbies are done watching.
"but what if someone intentionally leaves because they couldn't do a fast run of prae without waiting for cutscenes?"
will probably be a non-issue.
But if it does become an issue, then add a system where upon returning to play, such leavers can't skip cutscenes next time they do main scenario roulette, even if veteran.

No thank don't need them to change anything else. Most I want them to do is make Crystal Tower raids part of it.
I genuinely think when they trimmed prae down recently to be 4 man they kinda ruined the spectacle of the whole thing. Turning it into a solo instance while keeping most of the parts of it intact would have been preferable, but I get not wanting to get rid of one of the most iconic multiplayer experiences in the game.
I think the best change they could have done for both prae and castrum is just let people skip cutscenes if there are no first-timers in the party. Like I can't count how many times I got MSQ roulette into a full party of people who are only doing it for roulette.

Just gonna slip in and point out the very reason the MSQ roulette exists is because people didn't want to wait for cutscenes. Even if it's four players who have already cleared the dungeon, the bonus rewards you get that are much greater than other roulettes is precisely because of the extra time involved due to cutscenes. Letting people all skip the cutscene to speed it up but still get the same reward is a big NO from me."but what if someone intentionally leaves because they couldn't do a fast run of prae without waiting for cutscenes?"
will probably be a non-issue.
But if it does become an issue, then add a system where upon returning to play, such leavers can't skip cutscenes next time they do main scenario roulette, even if veteran.
