Ngl I stopped giving a shit about Zepla the moment she explicitly threw trans people under the bus with The TERF Wizard Game.

She even said she wasn't gonna play it until the "That Wizard Game" site came up, at which point she chose to throw trans people under the bus and then came up with some lame excuse about the Ukraine war which is entirely unrelated to trans people's lived experiences.

She's a grifter. There's no reason to take anything she says as a measure of fact.

Do I think this is the best written expansion so far? Not at all, but honestly it's a step up from 6.1-6.5.

And you'd be correct. She wasn't for the longest time. But that changed a few years back at this point. I don't care about her takes on the game because quite frankly, I haven't watched her content since she decided to throw trans people under the bus and then proceeded to run the "I've been CANCELLED" grift for a week straight on her channel. That is, at least, what made me lose all respect for her.

I wish it was. I had to deal with that type in real life, getting upset about a videogame... The dude in particular cut off people who had supported him and his dogwater stream for years for daring to play that game. He then came after me for different reasons, because he found that I didn't share his exact political views. These types are just unhinged, and there's no reasoning with them.

But I wonder if most of us who are, I presume, North Americans and Europeans, understand that the comfort of our lives has been carved out of human suffering.
I purchase products from Amazon, a company who brutally exploits their workers and has a lot of tax evasion and anti-union ills done, from brands that practice child labour or whose products eviscerate the environment and sell their waste to 3rd world countries and so on. I know this is morally reprehensible, but I can't help to relent under how much work and money I'd need to expend to avoid doing so.
Would you attack me as much, and say I support child labour and slavery for drinking a Nescafe? Would you attack yourself, or do you conveniently ignore that a lot of comfort and convenience in your life indirectly supports such evils?
Most people who played the game just wanted to have fun with a game. It's not that deep. Much like I just want a cup of coffee when I use a Nescafe capsule at my office. People have hard, stressful lives and maybe that's not the fight they chose. Much like, I assume, most of us didn't really think about the environment when we got a smartphone or a computer. I don't think we're evil for it- we're human and trying our best (in most cases, at least...).


Back on topic, I actually tuned in to Zepla just now (I've never watched her stream) and she raised a very interesting point about how artificial and "forced" the dialogue feels from the minor npcs during the attack. I was probably already on "skip all filler dialogue" mode, but it's actually a very valid criticism- it's like two words from the WoL (who's more or less a stranger in Tural) calms people down instantly and they forget their grief and panic for a moment to go hear the Dawnservant's- Wuk Lamat's- speech. One npc, in particular, has a line about "destroying our communities and culture and lives" followed by "The Dawnservant has a plan already? Even though she lost so much. The least I could do is listen to the Dawnservant." after their father was murdered. I actually never thought of this, but I agree with what she's saying for now, at least.

This is an entirely fair take. And no, I wouldn't. Because it doesn't directly affect me. Is that hypocritical? A bit. And yeah, as you say, that's not the fight they choose. It's a fight I choose, because it directly affects me. And I'd at least want people to know what they're financially contributing towards before doing so. I'm not in a place to stop them - nor will I call people transphobic for playing the game. Realistically, they're not, but realistically I can't see them as "allies" either. Most people have too much going on in their lives to care about whether trans people get persecuted and just want to have fun playing a video game. And I get that. Still. I want it to be known where that money goes to.

Do I order from Amazon personally? Not much, because ordering from Amazon is honestly fairly inconvenient where I live. That being said, I'm very much guilty of buying Nestlé (Nescafe parent company) products.

I personally interpreted this as more of a "This really fucking sucks, and nothing's gonna change the fact that it really fucking sucks, I guess it can't get worse if I listen so might as well" kind of thing.

I am with zepla. Atleast she FINALLY gets it. The story was just bad it is ok to tell the devs something is not good. If you keep lying saying everything was great that is how you get endwalker. To where the devs were falling asleep it was so bad but everyone kept saying must consume more content they can do no wrong. I cant believe the comments omg she just hates on the game for clicks. No she is telling the truth of what she thinks . Even the one who never says bad things about the game mr happy was not liking everything.
