This has to be troll bate. u literally just stand at the middle, which u should already be doing and take one step, and it snap shots very late gives tons of times compared to savage/ex where the second swipe is almost instant. You even said, you don't even try and then complain. It doesn't work that way if your putting in 0 effort you can't complain. For the knock up The entire thing is telegraphed, it shows u were your going to land, and tells you if it's going to be safe or not. With the very visible line and color of tiles. Just watch other people get hit, nothing else u have to dodge is going on during that time. Also the tiles are broken or not broken already so u can easily preposition, It also always targets support or dps, never a mixture, which is one of the most common ways this game resolves mechanics. We have had similar mechanics in other fights, and is one of the oldest mechanics that dates back to video games dating as far back as snes. I've played every zelda game b4 the 2 switch ones and everyone has this type of puzzle in it, pokemon uses this puzzle type all the time aswell. Even without playing an older game, u learn in the previous mech where she is destroying the floor that 2 hits on a floor destroy it. Some a-hats might expect you get it the first try and if you don't that's ok. But saying a mechanic that tells you how to do it so clearly, and one of the most telegraphed mechs I have seen in the entire game, is a weird take.

I'm here to say that I love the current difficulty of the dungeons, trials and raids. For once in many expansions, I don't feel like I'm falling asleep doing them. I'm having a blast with them. I like seeing the occasional wipes.
Players need to learn that it's fine to fail things. Guess what, the next day your brain processed things so that things go a bit more smooth the next time.

Stop wanting everything to be a walk in the park. I'm all for easy content when it's early in the game. But we are how many expansions past ARR? It's time to actually put all the things you learned over those dungeons/trials/raids into actual practice.
Besides, it's still easy to get carried by others. Unless both healers keep dieing at the same time and you don't have a rdm in your party.

With respect, at the time this was posted, these fights had been out for less than 24 hours. The reason half your party is dead is because like you, they are still learning the fight. It's still very much early days where everyone is learning, and hence there's going to be significantly more failure than there will be in less than a week when 60% of the players will know the fights up and down and be able to carry any stragglers to victory.

As someone whose favorite content is normal raids, what I've seen so far seems easier than the previous expansion's equivalent, Pandemonium. Panda 1 was a cakewalk, and then Panda 2 over-corrected with a pretty large difficulty spike. In comparison, Honey B. Lovely seems like a simpler fight, more comparable to Omega 2 and Eden 2 (we don't talk about Alexander 2).

To be clear, that doesn't mean Honey B. Lovely is a cakewalk; like all good fights, there are significant opportunities for failure. But as I said before, folks are still learning; as I write this, barely 24 hours have passed since this content was released. So hang in there and focus on learning; that's what others will be doing, to the extent that after a few weeks having even a single wipe will be the exception to the norm.

I think it also bears mentioning, that these fights are all incredibly new. It sounds like you've been at this game a while, so surely you've seen the shenanigans of a day 1 alliance raid before. People die in droves in those first few days, its chaotic, difficult, and a real challenge even for me and others who play the Savage content in the game. Then, time passes, and with nothing else but a little bit more gear and the general populace starting to remember the mechanics, they become cake walks, as you can just vaguely follow the group and not even need to try to solve mechanics on your own anymore. They become content you can turn your brain off for.

The trials, dungeons, normal raids, none of these are exceptionally difficult compared to content we've dealt with previously, the complexity of the mechanics, and speed necessary to execute is not anywhere near Savage or even EX levels. What they are, is unique. Honey B does just hit you with a lot of raid wides, Honey B has phases where you can only do so many mechanics by yourself, or you get charmed, 3 strikes and your out, but some of those strikes you have to willingly walk into to solve the mechanic. That's abnormal, not a lot of fights that use that style of mechanic. But these abnormalities are ones that you and everyone else is going to get used to. Pretty soon, we'll be walking through these Normal Raids like we walked through Hesperos (he killed people on repeat on release too!). What will remain, is that these fights will continue to feel unique, continue to break up the monotony, continue to make these fights fun to do even once the challenge starts to fade.

So I really gotta just say, take some deep breaths, accept the deaths and the struggles that are currently happening, and soon those will be a thing of the past and we'll all have a richer game for it. It's okay to struggle a bit, it's what makes the game a game and not a fancy screensaver.

I also need my X attempts to get everything right and train my reflexes. My brain is rotten from depression, which also means my focus and attention sometimes spontaneously drops. Yes, i did Savage. No, i was never good at it. btw, my ast is lvl 100 and I'm not able to play this class properly. what now? am i not allowed to say this class is difficult?
One of the purposes of the forum is to vent your frustration in the right place, because most people can't keep their bad mood to themselves. Let them rant!
i don't like the insta-dead mechanic of the new dungeons either. Of course i don't want them to take them out of the game, bc i don't have to like everything and i can live with that.
...Do you think I actually complain when there is something too hard for me? When I come up against something I don't understand, and it kills me or catches me off guard, my first thought isn't 'that is unfun' or 'I'm going to go complain about this on the forums' it is 'how do I not let that happen again'. I am never, ever upset that I have to learn to play the game. In fact, I'm eternally grateful when the game has new things to teach me and to get good at. Bc at the end of the day this is a game, and there is not a single game on this planet that doesn't require or benefit from putting in effort to improve.
This is level 100. We are not talking about Sastasha, we are not talking about Ifrit (Hard), we are not talking about A1N. This is level 100. There are 5 expansions and ARR that someone has to get through to get to this point. If you have not learned to play the game at a basic enough level to push through these fights, I'm sorry but... I think at that point, saying skill issue is warranted. These fights are not hard to clear. They are challenging to get through without making any mistakes and maintaining full uptime, though, and that's where the fun comes in. These fights are piss easy if you just drop all damage and run around dodging telegraphs... and yknow what? You won't be punished for it. Like all other casual content in this game, you can just shunt responsibility of a clear onto someone else. But if you want to actually contribute to a clear, it's about damn time the game asked for SOME effort.

I'm sorry to hear you're depressed and you have attention issues, but I am also depressed and have attention issues (see my last post). That is not an excuse for game designers to cater to the lowest common denominator. A game for everyone is a game for no one. If you have to take several tries to learn a mechanic, go ahead. What's the worst that happens? You die? You wipe? Someone calls you a mean word and then gets immediately reported? There are no real consequences for being unironically bad at this game. Before, all being bad meant was the healer had to work harder to keep you alive. Now, it means you die. The punishment is still on the healer (rip 2400 mana, swiftcast, and a gcd) but now you get smacked with a weakness which is a good way to say 'don't do that again'. At the end of the day these fights are quite easy after you learn the tells, but I get the sense that OP expects every tell to be a big orange circle and doesn't read castbars or like, to be a bit blunt, have a sense of pattern recognition. Ff14 fights happen in cycles, and these raids and the msq content is no exception. You get the tutorial mechanic, then you do it again, then the next tutorial mechanic, then you do it again, and then they combine them by the end of the fight. And yknow what, you should expect to die the first couple of times you do it. You should expect to wipe the first time you pull a normal raid boss. Endwalker, I want to stress, was the exception to this. DT isn't too hard, EW was too easy. And people got too used to that.

Also, if this forum is for venting....why am I not allowed to cent back? I'm frustrated with entitled casual players who do not bother to put in a modicum of effort, so I'm ranting about it. Why the double standard?

...And as a side note, im sorry, but DT AST is piss easy. If you can't figure it out, idk what to tell you. If you compare it to StB, ShB or even EW AST, it's about as simple as it gets. The healing kit is the exact same, and the card system has had all variance and complexity taken out of it for the sake of a bunch of ineffective cards with effects about as interesting as mud. You can say the class is difficult, but I can also say you're wrong. I've played AST for years, I think I'd know by now how it feels.

Ultimately, if you are caught off guard by the raise in difficulty from EW to DT and your first reaction is to go on the forums and complain about how everything is just too hard and needs to be changed... Then ultimately, yeah. I think maybe this game isn't for you. No one should be owed a clear in anything in this game just for showing up, and even then you can still get carried by people who do want to put in effort, worst case scenario. The fact that I play and have done extremes with multiple people who have attention disorders and other such disabilities (my girlfriend, who is going to be in my savage static, has dyscalcula, and has struggled with any mechanic involving a direction since the onset. She doesn't demand this game stop using them) tells me that people who weaponize disabled people as a justification for anything deemed casual is just virtue signalling. This game could always do more for accessibility, but making every fight easy when theyve already simplified and watered down the jobs you take into them is not it. This is level 100. If you've made it this far, this should not be a challenge.

Ok so just done the 100 msq dungeon and trial for the first time. I was expecting it way worse after reading here but the mechanics are slight variations of everything we already have in the game i.e lazer lights up, arm raises etc. We wiped once on the first 2 bosses and then survived the last.

And how many hours do you have to play FFXIV before you get to that point? Because most of the posts in this thread celebrate walling off current content and requiring hundreds of hours and ten years of experience before playing. "You're level 100, everything should be easy!" The issue at this point isn't Square Enix, it's the Final Fantasy XIV community which wants something far more restrictive than any other MMO. We have approached the "final boss" territory of FFXIV. And that's FINE! That's great news! Because it means that Final Fantasy XIV is finally approaching its end of life and the company can finally move on to a new MMO.

The raids aren't even difficult, but this thread wants them to be because it filters out the plebs and you're level 100 anyway so just "get gud". Hopefully this is the end!
With all due respect what the hell are you talking about

Maybe by the time you reach level 100 you should know how to play the game, how bout that. Nothing this tier is really that crazy compared to the past.

For the one where you get knocked in the air I wasn't sure what that was about and stood in the wrong place. I landed on a fractured cell which then broke so I fell and died. This taught me what this mechanic was all about.

It is day 1. People that don't like to do it blind and learn on their own can chill until the guides come out. The rest of us will have fun dying while laughing at ourselves and others for goofing up mechanics. The problem is if you are in the second group and want a guide? At some point the player base loses patience. Week 1 is when the player base is the most patient and understanding I find. But honestly, the ones who want to wait for a guide are sometimes the most toxic with this.
This game is probably just too hard for me, I already have a hard enough time deciphering left and right on the viper job gauge. Flashing red, blue, green, buttons lighting up. I have to move while also clicking the main blue sword skills and those in-between blue sword skills during the blue phase so it's difficult for me to react and click at the same time. I don't remember what cell I landed on, I just know I was in the air and then my whole party died with me, very frustrating so I left after.
