Feedback: Dawntrail MSQ dungeon difficulty

Oh we got a business expert in the house. You know amount of hours played in endwalker was kinda low compared to how many players were subbed, right? That's by itself a worrying sign because those people are the closest to just stopping entirely, on top of more likely not engaging with the cashshop. I'm sure as business expert you know this though.
Also, how do you know people will actually quit over this supposedly insurmountable difficulty? People have complained about hades, shinryu, holminster, seat of sacrifice being far too hard. And yet they made it through.

I'm not a business expert. Never said I was. I'm just pointing out the obvious. All of the folks here rejecting the experiences of players not able to do the same things they do were perfectly happy playing Endwalker.

Here's another thing I'm not though. I'm not a particularly long time player. I did not clear any of those difficulty gates you mentioned while they were on content and not outgeared. Why? Because like a huge number of other players, I joined during the pandemic, during a period when FFXIV's population grew rapidly. In that regard, low hours played compared to subs during EW, if that is indeed the case, makes sense because you have lots of casual players throwing money at Yoship on the regular without putting that many hours in. If that's the case, catering to that population is even more important.

I will attest to what were my experience and my friend groups, I and my whole FC stopped doing Dungeons, for farming or leveling due to how extremely boring snooze fest grind they were, nothing happened, the mechanics were reused to oblivion and if they were not they did not use any level of lingo, also, I remember how people said a while ago stated that the jump from casual to extreme to Savage was too high, well, here you have how that problem is solved, you teach people the language of raiding, and how you learn it, by fucking up, a lot and learning the lingo, if you guys want to go back to EW levels of dungeon design, then I will become a gatekeeper, I do sympathize with you people, but you seem unable to sympathize with the ones that just found the previous design terrible, there is a reason Yoshi-P mentioned in the LLs that they had become very permissive and made everything too easy, I was borderline going to unsub if it was not due to Ultimate content and my at the time partner, because I found all casual content asinine even if during SB and SHB I was a fervent player of casual and hardcore content.
The funny thing is, the content is not even too hard, for all of you who talk about being disabled or old, I know, I know that fricking sucks, but I also know you guys can fricking do it, stop asking for it to be easier, start asking for it to be accesible, is not the same thing, you dying more than the rest is fine, we are not asshole, we can tolerate wiping a bit more due to someone not getting a mechanic or not being too good at it, but the thing I will say is "Ladies and Gentlemen, COMPOSURE"

that's a complete lie, we are ANCHORED to the game, there is a reason the Sunk Cost fallacy is a thing, generally if you are at the high end you are already extremely entrenched so you just, tolerate it, until you get to a break point, this new content is extremely refreshing and revitalizes the community.

Then you dont know what the best financial choice is in this situation and are not pointing out the obvious. Being subbed is not the same as being perfectly happy either.

By contrast, for DT, I have seen people saying they're done either because of the quality of the story, scenes and voice acting and pointing out how well Genshin fills that niche, or because of accessibility issues in MSQ and combat content with GW2 being pointed as an alternative. I don't always understand why these people have those problems, but I do believe them when they say they have them.

All I'm gonna say is that if people thing GW2 will cater more to their turbo casual tier of difficulty they should reconsider their choice before they enter a single non solo instanced dungeon equivalent in that game.

Accessible is exactly what I'm asking for. Just have an option to trivialize dungeons that are necessary for following the MSQ. Tick that box and bam, people who are casual at the game can clear this thing first try one time to advance the story and that's it, they're at least satisfied and have a game to play for another four months until the next patch. Easy. And then you can keep Alexandria how it is for the week or two that it'll stay interesting for anyone seriously looking at ultimates.

Out of all the things i expected to see in this thread, i did not expect someone to be as delusional as to compare Alexandria to Ultimates. I am honestly in shambles at this point.

Catering to MSQ andies who will unsub one month in because they are done with MSQ?

They're not comparable, that's the point. If you stuck to the game because of Ultimate content, Alexandria will not stay interesting for any length of time. You are too much better than most players for that to be feasible.
