Vuln stacks being replaced with rather heavy (at least for the current gear) bleeds was a very good design decision IMO because it actually means the healer needs to heal now, not just you are fine then next mechanic you just get one shot so either way you don’t need healingArcadion's 4th fight is very funny. Moving some vuln stacks to heavy dots on failure, like those orbs from Zeromus is a positive treatment.
Really appreciate the last 20% being "If you don't use your kit or you are under 7 people, please die right now." just from pure damage. She shouldn't have taken breaks, it just should've been constant.
Unfortunately for the healers that got stuck with me, WAR and Living Dead saved the day once again. I'll queue these fights later on tonight, there could be some entertaining schadenfreude for awhile. Such a shame we're gonna outgear this, the way it is now is almost right for normal content.
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
I remember the 2nd fight in Rabanastre was sorta like that. He has this half room cleave that almost kills and applies a bleed; the bleed would quickly kill anyone that didn't get healed or dispelled. Also provided one of the few organic reasons for the caster role action 'Erase' to exist.
Actually, even further back, 4th boss of Mhach does this as well with her 'haircut' cleaves. And she had those traps that allowed even DPS to save allies that stepped in/near the puddles.
Bleeds good for needing heals/punishing intentional taking a hit. Vulns bad. Damage downs kinda neutral for needing healer gameplay.

Clunk is better than nothing just look at scholar (not that scholar is particularly interesting but having to choose between energy drain and healing AF abilities is like the bare minimum of gameplay you get)
I think people like me who are frustrated with healer should play it in prog, it is genuinely the only place in the game where the role is fun. I've been doing the normal raid which dropped today and people are dropping like flies and stepping in damage - I have to do so much rezzing, so much GCD healing to keep people up (both single and aoe) and it's just been utter chaos. The second raid with the bee boss is genuine fun lmao
But the downside to this is, give it a week, and everyone will know what they're doing and I'll be bored and swapping off to a DPS job. Still a dog shit role, where it's only fun for a week when new content comes out - but hey, embrace the one saving grace of this role.
I am trying to level a healer but I am running into the issue where I am falling asleep because I spam 1 every fight and usually my tank requires 0 healing.

Healers keep dying and letting the party die to raid-wides.
I think healers just need to get good, or we'll take away your dot next.
