A little different bump here.
I've just came across the lvl 60, ilvl 200 DoH/DoL sets from scripts and wondered if the fisher's vest would be a nice pictomancer piece. (Even tho I'm nowhere near the job.)
And I've played with the idea, if I would be able to create a playable picto or viper, using only these few sets.
That's a picto and a viper!
But oh wait... (those are pieces only from the lvl60 DoH/DoL script sets)
I have to say, at least for me, these would be acceptable picto and viper depictions... Except all items are of different sets the jobs cannot wear.
I wouldn't be surprised if you could do such a feat with other assortments of sets as well, and it says a lot that it could be done with using just a few locked sets - imagine if we could use many more! I believe there would be so many more players using the system to create sets fitting job identities (and making it interesting and fun!) if they could use even a fraction more pieces... (Not to mention the RP benefits...)
And thus I was thinking too, if the complaining, the comparing and the requests don't work, would maybe the creativity of the community affect Yoshi and the devs?
With that said, I have half the mind to challenge y'all to do the same as me: choose an assortment with a limited number of armor sets in it, be that DoH/DoL or DoW/DoM (like I did when I chose the lvl 60 script sets), and make a set fitting a job identity, except mostly - if not entirely - mix and match pieces that the job cannot wear from the assortment. (Double the impact if it's not just a marginally different piece of the one that the job can wear.)
Maybe we can prove with these too (besides the many good arguments in this thread), that it's worth opening up the glam scene?
I don't know if it could work, and you can shoot me down too if it's a stupid idea, I'm fairly new to the forums...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It could also add some new momentum to the thread tho (?).
