Can you guess which jobs these are?
Every update to this game further invalidates the argument for keeping glamour restrictions.

Yes, but only bc I farmed two of em.
At least the Healer one will let me dress up my healer glams like my Shadowrun Rigger.
Still sucks mch does not get to use the soldiers rifles and armor.
I just wanted to say at least let me dye the gear I like instead of locking the colors to jobs like I prefer the scouting and healing versions but sadly I only play casters and reaper which share the same model but terrible dye options.

Disagree. Some of the glamor restrictions make sense, but realistically if the developers aren't going to make the gear actually follow the generic DnD logic of:
- Tanks wear heavy metal gear
- Melee wear leather or light metal
- Ranged DPS wear leather
- Casters wear cloth
Then the glamor restriction is silly. The above, all but the one on the right may as well be cloth, and the one on the right would be "heavy metal". Likewise the two on the left don't even look different and I would say it was caster gear, while the two in the middle don't look distinguishable from each other and I would say is DPS gear.
Contrast this with the Shisui gear from Stormblood. The fending and maiming gear are IDENTICAL except for the color. Striking and Scounting gear? wait what's that, they have the white mage skirt, and the aiming gear has the tank skirt? The casters have the long ribbons and the DPS caster has no skirt at all. Plus the cash shop version which is basically the dyable version of the scouting version. The socks on the leg gear is is also sus, Fending, Maiming, Striking and Casting have the same leggings but different colors, the scouting has the same ribbons and the white mage has odd color ribbons. Then look at the foot gear.
Like it's pretty obvious at a glance that sometimes they only make one "gear set" and just have different parts for each job type. In this case, yes I agree, there is no reason why the glamor restriction should apply when it's pretty clear the gear is the same. Compare the shisui set with the above and it's clear there is only "three" pieces for each. Not seven.
A little different bump here.
I've just came across the lvl 60, ilvl 200 DoH/DoL sets from scripts and wondered if the fisher's vest would be a nice pictomancer piece. (Even tho I'm nowhere near the job.)
And I've played with the idea, if I would be able to create a playable picto or viper, using only these few sets.
That's a picto and a viper!
But oh wait... (those are pieces only from the lvl60 DoH/DoL script sets)
I have to say, at least for me, these would be acceptable picto and viper depictions... Except all items are of different sets the jobs cannot wear.
I wouldn't be surprised if you could do such a feat with other assortments of sets as well, and it says a lot that it could be done with using just a few locked sets - imagine if we could use many more! I believe there would be so many more players using the system to create sets fitting job identities (and making it interesting and fun!) if they could use even a fraction more pieces... (Not to mention the RP benefits...)
And thus I was thinking too, if the complaining, the comparing and the requests don't work, would maybe the creativity of the community affect Yoshi and the devs?
With that said, I have half the mind to challenge y'all to do the same as me: choose an assortment with a limited number of armor sets in it, be that DoH/DoL or DoW/DoM (like I did when I chose the lvl 60 script sets), and make a set fitting a job identity, except mostly - if not entirely - mix and match pieces that the job cannot wear from the assortment. (Double the impact if it's not just a marginally different piece of the one that the job can wear.)
Maybe we can prove with these too (besides the many good arguments in this thread), that it's worth opening up the glam scene?
I don't know if it could work, and you can shoot me down too if it's a stupid idea, I'm fairly new to the forums...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It could also add some new momentum to the thread tho (?).
