Personally I just hope next expac they give us the same spiel again. Go on a vacation! Low stakes adventure! Just this time.... actually do that. The WoL does not need a travelling buddy, they do not need a guide, let them just go somewhere on their own because they hear a rumor or something pops up and they get interested. They can meet people there, those people can even matter to the plot, just don't make the WoL some window dressing nobody again let them do SOMETHING.
