Anyway, no keystone for you...

I feel like being called out by this because I used to say the same to people who don't enjoy Stormblood. I get karma'ed lol
Anyway, as someone who enjoy SB *and* love Lyse... sorry to say but DT feels extra bad to me. The writing is simply unengaging and the weak cast of characters make it even worse.
Look. I'm a Lyse hater. She was a much better character while she was still Yda. And sure, she tried so very hard to be the MC of SB. But you know what? We were still there beside her, contributing every single step of the way, as her friend and ally. Wuk shoves us in to the background unless she needs us to tell her yet another obvious thing that a literal child could have figured out. And have. There have been child NPCs with more intelligence than this future "ruler".I feel like being called out by this because I used to say the same to people who don't enjoy Stormblood. I get karma'ed lol

Personally I just hope next expac they give us the same spiel again. Go on a vacation! Low stakes adventure! Just this time.... actually do that. The WoL does not need a travelling buddy, they do not need a guide, let them just go somewhere on their own because they hear a rumor or something pops up and they get interested. They can meet people there, those people can even matter to the plot, just don't make the WoL some window dressing nobody again let them do SOMETHING.
Remember the scene in the benchmark where your character pulls out a map and compass before hopping on their chocobo with a destination in mind? Yeah, I wanted that kind of adventure, but the benchmark apparently lied to me and stuck me to the hip of an overly obnoxious orange cat. The closest I got to that adventure I wanted was when we visited Xak Tural for the first time and got to see not-Texas.
As a Legacy 10+ year player - I have to agree with most; the story was boring and unengaging.
After, finishing the story I started leveling some jobs, doing tribe dailies and duty finder, and even that feels bland. Got myself all hyped up and purchased 2 expansions over the last couple months. /Deep breath, /sigh...
I was hoping to pick up and old feeling by jumping into extremes when finished BUT I want to go in blind with a group and get the full mystery experience of figuring out. Nope, Full guide videos released within 24-48 hours of release and you must have memorized said video by day 3-4. Seems the goal is to spam click though the story as fast as possible in a race for gear which will be obsolete in a few months. Negates the whole MMORPG/Strategy and play experience.
I am definitely glad I went back to FFXI for 3 years, it was worth the experience with some new content and the 20 year anniversary.
Hearing a lot of great things about Baldur's Gate having a real old school Strat/RPG feel. Might give it a try.
