Yeah you're right, it's crazy I'm playing a video game that is a media that specifically puts you in the driver seat of a story instead of every other media like, I dunno, movies, books literally anything other than a video game, and those of us that would like to be the driving force of conflict resolution is instead wanting to be the MAIN MAIN SUPER SLAYING CHARACTER!! That's exactly what many of us are asking for!

Definitely not asking to not be silent side characters twiddling our thumbs waiting around for another character to choose what will happen instead of us being reasonably written and integrated into the story.

Right, I want a power trip, not a well written story. Crazy how they did just that with 3 other expansions that had your character NOT the main character.

I actually really like being a wisened party member. It suits our WoL well at this point. I like Wuk Lamat, too.

The story and pacing is god awful, though. Atrocious. There's like 40 hours of filler that could be cut.

For me it's not even that a slow adventure could have been us solo exploring like back in the days of arr and us going in a journey of discovery and fun as we follow rumors and hints of the golden city while being the helpful adventuer we are.

Anyway, as someone who enjoy SB *and* love Lyse... sorry to say but DT feels extra bad to me. The writing is simply unengaging and the weak cast of characters make it even worse.

Look. I'm a Lyse hater. She was a much better character while she was still Yda. And sure, she tried so very hard to be the MC of SB. But you know what? We were still there beside her, contributing every single step of the way, as her friend and ally. Wuk shoves us in to the background unless she needs us to tell her yet another obvious thing that a literal child could have figured out. And have. There have been child NPCs with more intelligence than this future "ruler".
