I was addressing the "you pull, you tank" mentality, not tanks learning their role. That is completely different. For a veteran tank, certainly. A veteran tank should be capable of handling it.
I would never expect a novice tank to do it when they're still learning their abilities. Trial by fire learning may work for some but many do not do well under those circumstances. Far better for the entire group to work with the tank than insist the tank take more than they are prepared to handle.
I don't know, as a guy who has played tank roles since before 1.0 even existed.... I won't mind if you do it once. You do it twice I will remind you it kind of makes my job harder and ask you to just let me do it. You do it a third time I will do nothing and let you eat all the attacks you want. I don't go slow, I don't mess around, I am "gap closing" and sprinting on basically every pull and I always pull the max allowed outside some old ARR and HW dungeons. In most groups I am in fact at the front unless someone is going out of their way to get ahead of me with teleports etc. So nah, if you want to be an idiot three times I am fine giving you the option to taste dirt.
Wow, so manly, so masculine!I don't know, as a guy who has played tank roles since before 1.0 even existed.... I won't mind if you do it once. Actually not letting DPS pull is making the run worse for everyone else
It's optimal to let DPS pull, they're faster and they have an extra HP bar and Arm's Length.
