I'm reminded by two actions from Bozja: one called Seraph Strike and another which uses up a lot of your MP but boosts your damage pretty heavily. Not sure what could be used for a healer trying to tank though.

The main issue with specs is ff14 already tried it with Arcanist and they clearly couldn't handle it because both SMN and SCH have lost the Arcanist identity of a Pet management dot mage.

You're not wrong there. There would need to be something more than what they've done for (I only have experience with WHM) healer's damage abilities. They'd have to add an extra piece of text to some abilities that say something like "Healing potency is converted to damage potency and can only affect enemies when [DPS spec name] is active" and then have to untangle and re-tangle some spaghetti code to make it all work in a style that would fit a caster DPS job.
